Feathered Friends

I took the photos of these birds at the Singapore Zoo. The pelicans were seen at a water area where they kept the monkeys on an isle. There were actually 6 or 7 of them gathered in the area and they were pretty busy preening themselves. It took quite a number of tries to get the photo I liked, as they were fidgeting so much.

There's no cage, nets or whatsoever keeping these pelicans here, so I'm pretty amazed that they don't fly off to other places and staying put at the zoo. I guess the food is in abundance here! That or they are pretty native in the area. The stock in the third photo, on the other hand, is pretty much caged up. Guess they may fly off delivering babies if they are free to roam.

These are great. I saw some pelicans in Tanzania a few years back that are very similar to these.
