What is a lovely vacation? Everyone has their answer depending on their desires and the degree to which they are satisfied.
A vacation, for me, must first of all be by the sea. When I see the sea, when the sea is nearby and I feel it, even if I don't see it, I have everything I need for a lovely vacation.
I recently went to the Black Sea in Bulgaria, to Balchik, my favorite vacation spot. I have been there every year for more than twenty years. This vacation I took a short trip to another part of Bulgaria, also by the sea.
We visited Nessebar, a peninsula in the south that is one of the most appreciated places, historically and in terms of beauty.
I would love it if I could show this beauty with the photos I took. I don't want to write much about the locality, I want to show what a tourist can find and see there. I think the visual can be more attractive and useful for someone to get an idea of a place they have never been.
More data and information about Nessebar in this post of mine, Nessebur, Pearl of the Black Sea.
The following photos are a continuation and a complement of the travel blog.
I took many photos from which I chose a few, which are still too many for one post. I don't want to bore or sacrifice some by putting them in a string where they would get lost, and for that reason, I won't use them all. I prefer to make more posts...
Nessebar is a small peninsula with vestiges of the Middle Ages, narrow streets, and very old houses that are still inhabited or have been converted into small shops.
The sea is very close and is more of a view than a place to swim and sunbathe.
Near Nessebar, there are a lot of large beaches and attractive hotels for those who want the most from the sea, i.e. sea bathing, sunbathing, and resting in comfort.
Nessebar can be called the capital of street shopping. This is what tourists do best here, buy lots of souvenirs and gifts.
Everywhere something is hanging that can be bought...
Almost every wall is the place where the items for sale are displayed.
I try to stay away from such temptations, it's enough for me as my wife is a master shopper and doesn't miss anything... within the limits of her possibilities. There are places where I am also attracted, such as antique shops!
An antique shop is too much to say. A warehouse, after all, is filled with hundreds of objects, more or less to be bought.
Let's take a closer look...
You can't even imagine how many items fit in here and how much time you can consume just by looking for something where the need meets the amount to spend.
However, the poorly lit and crowded store interior induces a feeling of claustrophobia and you quickly feel the need for air and some rest outside, just like these girls.
Then, if your money has run out and you don't want to go into any more shops, you are left with the option of seeing a few hundred-year-old vestiges. Church ruins.
Places are fenced and secured against tourists who might destroy something, but not much care is taken to enhance them.
I don't even know what this very old building could be. It lacks any information and we can only wonder that it stood for hundreds of years in this place.
These are trifles and do not diminish the beauty of the place, which, like any place of this kind, cannot be perfect.
Until my next trip here, or at least, until my next post, I will miss these streets of Nessebar.
