Ah, August 2019—back when life was still (relatively) simple, and the only virus we were worried about was the one that made your computer run slower than dial-up internet. This was a time when I still trekked to Brussels every day, only to come home to a pleasant surprise: a delivery from Moment Lenses. Yes, folks, this was the day my iPhone got an upgrade, thanks to the shiny new Moment macro lens.
Let’s kick things off with a typical day in the life, circa 2019. The morning started with the usual commute to Brussels, where the architecture and the buzz of the city were the perfect backdrop for capturing some street photography. But the real fun began once I got home and tore open that package from Moment Lenses like a kid on Christmas morning.
With my new macro lens in hand, I was unstoppable. First, I had to test it out on some of the smaller wonders of the world. From capturing the delicate details of flowers to getting up close and personal with a spider that probably had no idea it was about to become Instagram-famous, that lens was everything I hoped it would be.
Of course, it wasn’t all fun and photos. That same day, I had to help out with some church cleaning duties in our village. But hey, even chores come with photo ops when you’ve got a new lens to play with, right? The stained glass windows inside the church? Chef’s kiss.
And finally, the day wrapped up with one of my evening canal walks. You know, those quiet moments where the day winds down, and the world gets a little softer, a little slower. The canal, bathed in the golden glow of the setting sun, was the perfect ending to a day well-spent.
So here’s a little throwback to a day filled with simple pleasures, both big and small—because sometimes, it’s those everyday moments that stick with us the most. Enjoy the flashback, and maybe even find some inspiration to revisit your own little joys from the past.
