A small sample of my shadow photography collection

Hello friends,

The #pobphotocontest organized by @friendlymoose this week is probably the #pobphotocontest that best fits with the photographs I have saved from the last two years.

You heard right, I have a multitude of shadow photos saved on my hard drive as a result of my constant participation over the last two years in the Shadow Hunters Contest organised by @melinda010100.

And with the aim of making a recapitulation, I have decided to group the best shadow photographs by theme and briefly explain each one of them.

Sculptural shadows

The sculptures that adorn our streets are a great opportunity to hunt for attractive shadows.

The first one I share with you is a shadow I photographed in the city of Pamplona in a central square where the statue of King Carlos III of Navarre is located. I took advantage of the pedestal to hide behind it to photograph the shadow without my shadow appearing in the photograph.

Another of the sculptural photographs of which I am very proud and which will be my entry in the #pobphotocontest is the photograph taken of a replica of the Manneken Pis in the Europa Park in Torrejon de Ardoz in Madrid.

And a third sculpture-related shadow that I loved photographing was taken in the city of Burgos.

City that houses the museum of human evolution and near it is located this work that represents a human child holding hands with an adult of prehistoric times that makes us reflect on the link we have with our ancestors.

Prehistoric shadows

Inside the Museum of Human Evolution to be able to stand in front of bones 400000 years old is quite an experience.

Especially when you can look at skulls and long bones that are so well preserved despite the large number of years that these bones have been perfectly preserved.

Children's Playground shadows

As far as children's shadows are concerned, they abound in my photo library, some of the most outstanding being some photographs of my cousin Natalia playing in the children's playground.

Although also the shadows of several children's games by themselves allow to enjoy the photographs of shadows untying those of certain swings.

Tree shadows

Trees are always a classic in shadow photography.

But if there is a tree with very characteristic shadows are the palm trees and I have photos of palm trees from different parts of Spain (Asturias, Galicia, Tenerife, Valencia, etc).

Christmas shadows

And finally and not to extend in this post and taking advantage that Christmas is near I can indicate that there are also typical Christmas shadows like the one of a Christmas tree that is installed every year near my house where as balls are the names of the houses of the different neighbours.

And finally the photograph of a small wooden Christmas tree that I photographed last Christmas in a hotel in the city of Burgos that I loved for its perfect symmetry.

I hope you liked the post and I encourage you to participate in this edition of the #pobphotocontest organized by @friendlymoose and I also encourage you to participate in the Shadow Hunters Contest organized by @melinda010100.
