Woodland photography and some deer

in #hive-1949132 years ago

This post is a continuation from last week's photo wander. Once the sun was up I headed into the woods, as a nice amount of mist had permeated into the wooded areas.

I mentioned komorebi in my previous post, it's the Japanese word for light rays filtering through trees. There were light rays everywhere, it was very beautiful.

Some hinds were walking through the trees in the distance. I didn't want to disturb them, so I popped on my telephoto lens and took some shots as they breakfasted on some of the low hanging oak leaves.

Walking back into the open, I met this amazing stag. His new antlers looked gorgeous - all velvety and rounded. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly the new antlers grow - it was only a few months back when they shed their old ones.

Wildlife photographers travel here from far and wide in the Autumn, to photograph the stags during the rutting season. I prefer them at this time of the year, when their antlers are covered in beautiful velvet and without the intense (and slightly terrifying) fighting.

By the time the rut arrives, he is going to be an impressive opponent. The velvet will fall away, and his antlers will be pointed and deadly.

The sun was well and truly up now. As I headed back to my bike, I took one last shot with my telephoto lens, of the beautiful backlit grasses.

Wonderful pictures, each of them, the mysteries of nature are beautiful and attractive!

Thank you! Mother Nature is the best artist. :)

always! ...although it cant cook !PIZZA 😎

But it provides all the raw !PIZZA ingredients! 😉

well noted! if there was no real sun, initially -- there would be no these little cheesy smiley suns as well. (not sure if all the grammar of this phrase is correct?.. sequence of tenses always was a pain in the school, and still is not my long suit ) 🍀 😊 🍀 😊

I have no idea what sequence of tenses even is @qwerrie! Your English grammar is probably better than mine. 😄

oh.... 😱 harsh times! 😂😂😜

and a !PIZZA

The shots are on point! Lovely work @cathgothard 👏👏👏

Thank you so much! Really glad you like my photos. :)

It was an absolutely gorgeous morning. Such a joy to be out with the camera! Glad you like the photos Joan! :)

Woods are exciting places to wonder around never knowing what one might see, your captures are stunning!

They most certainly are. Almost magical!

Captured the mood with mist, trees, grasses, deer and my favourite the stag (2nd to last photo).

He was a very photogenic stag. I think he knew it as well. ;-)

Thank you for sharing my post! :)

Oooohhhh, those velvety antlers look lovely... My fav is the one reaching for the low leaves

The velvety antlers are so beautiful. I love the deer at this time of the year. The tree nibbling are my favourite ones too. :)

Wow. Really liked these photos. Specially the first ones with the mist. Truly great work.

Just a clarification, you mentioned the Japanese language. Is this in Japan?

Glad that you enjoyed my photos. They are taken in a London park, not Japan. I thought that the word for light beams through trees was very appropriate and interesting, as the English language doesn’t have an equivalent. :)

Just making sure heheh Checked your site as well... following is what I say.

Hehe well I can see how my wording could have been misleading. Sadly, I’ve never been to Japan. I’m sure that it’s very photogenic though. :)

The recording of these images is wonderful. The sun's rays are beautifully recorded. Excellent telephoto lens

Thank you so much! I was very lucky to get so much lovely mist. It’s quite scarce in the summer months.

PIZZA! PIZZA! PIZZA! PIZZA! PIZZA! PIZZA! PIZZA! PIZZA! PIZZA! PIZZA! PIZZA! PIZZA!

These are great. Love the atmosphere in the first shot.

Thank you so much! The mist and light really were sublime. I was lucky to get such good conditions. Summer mists are much less common than in the other seasons. Glad that you like the photographs. :)

Oh man. You are soooo good with the mist! I can never get it right. (That and I never get up early enough.)

Thank you very much! That’s a lovely comment. I do love taking misty photos, so I get lots of practice. The early starts are a bit painful at the moment though. At least it’s nearly the longest day!! :)

It's beautiful photos

Thank you very much! Glad that you like them. :)

Thanks so much @tdctunes! It was a very lovely misty morning.

Thanks for the !PIZZA :)

I think you could find mist even on a clear day!

Great work as always - thanks for sharing!

!PIZZA

Now that WOULD be a skill. The misty mornings are scare this time of year sadly. It was super nice yesterday morning (I've seen photos on Instagram) and I had set my alarm. However, I had only just got back from 10 days holiday and I was soooooooo tired I just couldn't face getting up. So that's a rare opportunity gone. :)

Have some !PIZZA

Well done on taking a holiday! (I'm assuming it was nice?) and well done too on having a lie in! Misty photos can wait and if there is no mist I'm still thinking of ways to make it!

!PIZZA !LUV

Yes it was very nice thank you. We had a bit of a hectic schedule, and so it's good to be home too.

In the absence of a dry ice machine, I'm thinking I should probably try and take more photographs without mist in them. I took my camera away with me, and although it wasn't a photography trip, I did enjoy taking photos just out and about on hikes. The different subject matter was very refreshing (although they're probably not my best photos :)

With that said, I am always interested in your fake mist ideas! 😁

!PIZZA

Hmmm looks like we don't need dry ice!!!

!PIZZA

This might make enough mist for a macro shot! 😆
