Bike ride: discovering new territories under the bizarre clouds

A few days ago, I decided to take my bike and ride the country roads, a rural area just a few kilometers from home. The rural area is characterized by the predominant presence of olive groves, from which olive oil is obtained, a fundamental element of Italian cuisine, with enormous benefits for our body.

The peculiarity of these roads, in addition to the absolute silence interrupted only by the noise of nature and its creatures, is the presence of the dry stone walls that delimit the road and which today are considered UNESCO heritage. In the past, in fact, the boundaries between the various terrains were delimited by stone fences, simply positioned one on top of the other, but in an orderly and judicious way.

On the way, I faced some climbs including the one where I stopped to capture some snapshots of the wonderful natural landscape. The olive trees dominate the lower part, a long expanse that covers almost the entire plain.

In the sky beautiful clouds alternate to shade the trees, and when they pass over me, they also offer me a natural shelter from the hot sun. A beautiful summer day, less sultry than last week, so the bike ride is very pleasant. I often meet other cyclists or runners, it is in fact a path coveted by all sports lovers who love nature and seek relaxation away from the chaos of the city.

At the end of the day I covered over 20 kilometers, certainly a simple and not very long route but this is the first time this year that I take the bike and I am sure that the colors will arrive soon. In addition to fatigue, at the end of the sporting day, after a refreshing shower, there remains a great feeling of lightness and satisfaction, as well as a profound mental regeneration.

I have to promise myself more bike rides, the result is really very rewarding.
