The Caribbean Festival is one of the most important celebrations that take place in Cuba throughout the year. Historically its epicenter is Santiago de Cuba, during the days 3 to 9 July. This Festival allows the exchange with national and foreign artists, so that Santiago de Cuba becomes a metropolis of pure art.
Every year this festival is dedicated to some country in our region. In the case of last year, the honoree was Mexico, a country very rich in myths and traditions. These photos were taken during the "Snake Parade", a moment of the festival in which all the artists must parade through the streets of Santiago de Cuba until they reach Céspedes Park. Needless to say, this is one of the most colorful activities of the entire event, and there are always large numbers of people who gather to see it.

El Festival del Caribe es una de las celebraciones más importantes que tienen lugar en Cuba durante todo el año. Históricamente su epicentro es Santiago de Cuba, durante los días 3 al 9 de Julio. Este Festival permite el intercambio con artistas nacionales y extranjeros, de manera que Santiago de Cuba se vuelve una metrópoli de puro arte.
Cada año este Festival se dedica a algún país de nuestra región. En el caso del año pasado, el homenajeado fue México, un país muy rico en mitos y tradiciones. Estas fotos fueron tomadas durante el "Desfile de la Serpiente", momento del festival en el que todos los artistas deben desfilar por las calles de Santiago de Cuba hasta llegar al Parque Céspedes. De más está decir que esta es una de las actividades más vistosas de todo el evento, y siempre hay grandes cantidades de personas que se reúnen para verlo.
Justo hoy comienza el Festival del Caribe 2024, dedicado al poblado de Bahía en Brasil. ¡Ya veremos qué nos depara!
