Hi fellow Hiveians,

Today I wanted to share a few photos from recent summers, while I spend time uploading my recent batch of photos and sort through them!

Summery Monochrome Monday

Summertime is definitely an enjoyable time of year. You get to, for the most part, be outside far more often and do a lot more different stuff than you do at other times of year. There is definitely enjoyment in the air; be it from animals, people or bugs. Everything is out and about! That means some awesome photography opportunities for me!

This week is a little bit of a blend of other years for some black and white photos, with a mixture of different places that I've been. I'm working on getting the most recent photos from our various journeys we've taken over the past several weeks uploaded to my laptop so I can sort through them and get the pictures cataloged for what types of posts I want to generate, but in the meantime I wanted to reflect back on some good summertime photos! So many of the photos are of some type of water, could you have guessed?! :D I love water!

The ocean is definitely our go-to spot in the summer, though we've been trying to branch out a little bit to different places! I think we tend to go to the ocean more because the weather is hot, and where we live the ocean water is pretty cold. Where our favorite beach is, the water temperature is still in the 50's and it won't reach the 70's until August if we are lucky, but September most times. This means that the beach, when it's nice and hot, is pretty refreshing. You get hot and just go into the water to cool off! I know that it was wonderful to be in an area that's got warm ocean water, but there's a bit of a different refreshment when you jump in an ice-cold ocean when it's super hot out haha.

I love this spot we went to, a restaurant was on a pier that was sticking out into the ocean. It made for some cool pilings and things in the sand! The barnacles were all over these things, combined with the fish and things around. We didn't try to venture out beneath the pier here lol I didn't know what we'd end up getting stuck on or something, or step on something crazy that hurt us so we just admired it from a distance.

What would summertime be without the mountains though?! They are definitely an absolutely beautiful place to be in the summer. The higher elevation means that the air is hot, but not as hot as it is down in the lower elevation and near the beaches. It's also got some great wind! The lakes are certainly cooler than other places which makes it refreshing to just stand at the waters edge with your feet in there or go swimming if you are brave enough. I know that there aren't any fish in these places that could pose a threat to us realistically, but I still get nervous swimming in places like this haha. The mountain lakes that are very clean and very clear water are ones that I don't mind swimming in, but those aren't too common. They are clean for sure, but they aren't as clear as I would like them to be so I just hang out in the shallows.

Next week I'm hoping to have some more recent photos for Monochrome Monday!

Thanks man! That one is definitely one of my favorites as well, that's a beautiful mountain river that we go to when we go to the mountains. Amazing stuff! Thanks for stopping by :D

I have to find a way to invest in a better way to capture moments around me... One way is going to pass for buying a proper camera, and not a smartphone, that in my case it's a little bit limiting in therms of adjusting exposure configurations.
Continue to post great content, my friend! Congratulations

Most of the pictures I do take are with a phone but I do bring our my camera every so often! I would like to use it more but I don’t get the chance, still I enjoy what I do get to take!

Canon camera kits are pretty affordable online these days! We got my wife’s latest version for 500$ with it all included, and a better lens for 150$ so it’s potentially a lot up front but I only buy them every 10 years or so, so it was an investment for me.

My last camera I bought 15 years ago now that I think about it, so I got my moneys worth out of it lol now it’s my sons to get better as he gets older but worth it!

I will have to check the Canon options. And just like you mention, on these 10-15 years that passed since you bought those cameras you are still taking great shots and having fun with them!
Thank you so much for your advise!

I don’t know if you look at amazon stuff much but that’s where I got my wife’s camera which took these pictures.

Secondarily - if you visit KEH camera they sell used camera equipment. That’s where I got the lens but they also sell cameras so you should give that a try!

Oh... I din't knew this site!
The "only" thing about buying second hand cameras is the "trust" that we have to give to the seller... One of my "bad" issues with that idea. But seems that you have a personal very positive opinion on this one. Thank you so much for the time that you have took to reply me, and to advise me!
Cheers!

Yeah I’ve used KEH a few times now and the products are good, I don’t know about their international shipments but I got two different lenses from the a new they were both great! The quality was as advertised, nothing crap!

Beautiful photos @cmplxty! Summertime really brings out the best in nature. Looking forward to seeing your recent uploads!💗🥰

You're so lucky to be so close to nature.
My aunt has a river quite close to her house, lovely winds and cool evening's.

Although since we're in a city with a lot of fucking back minded people, the river is polluted heavily with refuse and other stuff...

I'm neck deep in the city, so no rivers for me. Except when the rain comes in droves and the gutter looks like a strange tributary 😂😂

Yeah it's annoying and unfortunate what people will do to a river or something like that.. they have no respect sadly!

It's funny, I knew that I was a little lucky but never fully appreciated it until I started posting things on hive like this and realized how beautiful the area we live in truly is. People travel from all around the world to come see this area and I was trying to get out of it to go somewhere else! I then realized I should appreciate where I am more and it’s actually given me a much different perspective on it all. Long way to say thanks but thanks! :D

Of all my hive friends, I'd say you, @ablaze and @borjan have one of the most beautiful natural neighbourhood...

Although you guys are the ones who post the most pics...

Haven't seen borjan's post in a while though...

Yeah blaze has some great areas around him! I don’t recall well enough Borjan’s photos but I do know him :D on hive of course but I recall he does macro shots of bugs and things often!

Glad you enjoy my photos my friend! I need to get better at cataloging them now LOL I’ve got so many I want to post!

He does macro and sometimes city pics...

Well if you'd call his site a city😂😂😂

It looks like black and white is usually the best for oceans and all
The wave and all looks so good
I love the pictures!

Thanks, yeah black and white for ocean waves is awesome!
