You should enter a photography contest.

I've heard it a few times. Considered it plenty. But photography contests usually want you to pay to enter. And only want one photo. When I get into it with my crows, I don't want to pick one.single.photo. I want to celebrate every shot.

Especially when it's babies.

Hungry, loud, lazy, greedy babies and I don't know how tf the parents do it year after year but omg it's just grand.

Crows featured are Lod (the one rolling his eyes) and two of his FOUR not-so-wee babes.

I didn't know crows could get prescriptions, but it totally makes sense that they could forge their own. Probably works better than marijuana seeds.

I think I heard once that people would feed their canaries marijuana seeds to make them sing. Don't know if that's true though.

What about #comedyopenheartsurgery? That could be fun(ny) to see. Especially stand up. Especially-er if the one getting the surgery was standing up.

The funniest parts of #comedyopenheartsurgery would probably need to be posted in video form on 3Speak. I'm working on some videos now, I'm sure I could find an available heart surgeon to assist with your idea.

I think canaries sing with or without the marijuana seeds, but they REALLY get into their performance after a few seeds to loosen them up.

I feel ya about the contests. I try to look for good ones regularly but most either seem to be a racket or else are ill-suited to my photography. There's a few decent ones I've found though, Sony sponsors an annual contest that is free and allows you to enter up to 10 photos in each category and LensCulture always has something going on. It's one of those free single entry or pay for up to 10, and you can pay extra for a portfolio review. Did that once, was more helpful than I was afraid it was going to be.

The reviews can be quite helpful, from everything I've read the feedback is worth the money. I'd submitted a batch of photos from the 2020 protests, told me on the technical side I was good and then gave me a bunch of feedback on the types of shots to include in a project to round it out properly, all stuff I didn't know and never would have figured out on my own.

Heh, they are terrifying. Did you ever use the old instant messengers? They remind me of the off brand emojis that Trillian and some of the apps that let you sign into multiple instant messengers had.

Great shots ... I quite agree on photography contests ... they are never free it puts me off entering ...such a shame
