(Final Image, which I absolutely love)
Friday night I got invited out by a photographer friend to do some night photography, I couldn't make it as I was working until 8pm and was back in work early the following day, anyhow, things were in my favour as it clouded over so my friend cancelled anyways, but last night was different, last night we had some clear skies and I wasn't working the following day either :-)
I live a lot closer to the monument than Chris but he was there well before me and was shooting before I got there.
(Gateway to another world)
As I walked through the gate into the field, I was presented with a massive amount of mud, there was no way around it, but as I was messing with my torch and it was dark, I didn't see it until it was too late and ended up wading through it, I've still got to clean my trainers, which I will be doing when I have finished this blog.
(Gateway to another world part two)
I shot a series of shots that I could either put into a time lapse video or blend them together to create star trails, I opted for the star trails as I did attempt this years ago at this monument, but it looked absolutely terrible, I have to say that last nights attempt is so much better.
Once I started processing the shots, I did various versions, one fully lit, one with just the arch lit and one with the arch and trees lit, as well as one with all the clouds in the shot.
(The clouds rolled in and spoiled my fun)
I would have loved to have shot for longer, sadly the clouds rolled in thick and fast, so with what we had shot, we decided to call it a night, it was great being out there with fellow photographers, it's so much better than being there on your own, looking forward to the next shoot, I really need one of the lights that Chris has got, I love the lighting on it, especially the warm white light, lovely.
I really hope you like the shots on todays blog.
Thanks for reading,
All the best :-)
