I Should Have Taken My Camera...

in #hive-19491311 months ago

A couple of days ago I took my parents to Whitby in North Yorkshire, England. My parents are now in their 70's and aren't as mobile as they used to be so I thought I'd treat them to a day out as they've been mentioning a recently about how the church at the top of the 199 steps has Christmas trees in there this time of year.

I decided not to take my camera as I thought the weather would be rubbish, how wrong was I?
I did put the drone in the car, just in case I could get a flight, in which I did succeed, but the best of the day was still to come.

I took the drone up while my sister and parents went into the Church to look at the trees, I did get some good shots, however the wind was getting up a bit and the light wasn't the best for photography, but it's not everyday I get to the coast and fly the drone, especially with the weather this time of year.

I didn't take too many shots as mentioned earlier that the wind was getting up a bit, when I checked my app the windspeed was fine, but at one point I was flying to my location and the drone wouldn't go forward, so I thought I'd bring the drone in and call it a day.

We went for some food and as it got dark, another fantastic sunset, I'm thinking in the back of my mind that I should have brought the camera, we drove back up to the abbey as I wanted to get some shots of the 199 steps looking down towards the town, but I had to use my phone as other than my drone this was the only camera I had on me.
I have to say though that I am more than happy with the shot, I did shoot everything in manual mode, and a few tweaks in lightroom, and got a fairly decent shot.
I know that with my camera the shot would be even better, but I can't complain at all with this shot.
I love the colours, the sky and the reflections on here.

Anyhow, I really hope you like this post, and I'd just like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.

Shot using a DJI Mini 4 Pro and a Samsung S21 phone.

All the best :-)

You have some beautiful shots there, I've also had to leave the camera and the truth is that the cell phone is a great ally in these cases. What is unthinkable is to miss a wonderful photo like that. Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas to you too 😊

The natural scenery and every building is very beautiful, you take very perfect pictures

Another awesome set mate! We're going to Whitby for a couple of days between Xmas and the new year but after seeing these, indont think I'll embarrass myself taking any pictures!

You and your family have a great holiday.

Best wishes :-)

Thank you ever so much matey, I hope you have a fantastic time, I'd definitely take the camera though as you might get some epic light.
