Greetings to all lovers of photography! About 15 days ago I accompanied my mother to visit the Maceo Park, located between the Malecon and the Hermanos Almejeiras Hospital. What impressed me most about the place was the large monument in honor of the martyr Antonio Maceo, who fought for the independence of Cuba.
¡Saludos a todos los amantes de la fotografía! Hace unos 15 días acompañé a mi madre a visitar el Parque Maceo, ubicado entre el Malecón y el Hospital Hermanos Almejeiras. Lo que más me impresionó del lugar fue el gran monumento en honor al mártir Antonio Maceo, quien luchó por la independencia de Cuba.
My mother loves to investigate and discover the history of the places she visits, and I am lucky to be able to accompany her, because I always learn something new. I also take the opportunity to enjoy one of my greatest pleasures: photography.
A mi madre le encanta investigar y descubrir la historia de los lugares que visita, y yo tengo la suerte de poder acompañarla, porque siempre aprendo algo nuevo. También aprovecho para disfrutar de uno de mis mayores placeres: la fotografía.
The monument is light-colored, but the sculptures have an ochre tone that, together with the sunlight, create a nice contrast. However, I don't want to downplay its historical importance.
El monumento es de color claro, pero las esculturas tienen un tono ocre que, junto con la luz del sol, crean un bonito contraste. Sin embargo, no quiero restarle importancia histórica.
I also photographed the huge Hospital, which, despite having been built at different times, harmonizes with the place thanks to the tonality of its design. On one of the upper floors waved a Cuban flag and another of the monument, which I was able to capture in all its splendor thanks to the reflection of the sun on it.
También fotografié el enorme Hospital, que, a pesar de haber sido construido en distintas épocas, armoniza con el lugar gracias a la tonalidad de su diseño. En uno de los pisos superiores ondeaba una bandera cubana y otra del monumento, que pude captar en todo su esplendor gracias al reflejo del sol en ella.
It was wonderful to share that moment with my mother, and now I share with you this selection of photos for you to enjoy the beauty of this place.
