It has been more than 8 years since I arrived in this country punctually in Buenos Aires and one of the first things I did was travel on the Sarmiento line of the Trenes Argentinos company, It was the first transportation I used and the experience was very pleasant, perhaps because I traveled a short distance and I really didn't know anything, The stations are visually very attractive, nice trains and good service.

I also remember Caballito station exactly because I met a friend from my country at this station. Nowadays it is one of the stations that is close to where I usually pass and I always remember that moment.

I was thinking about it yesterday and had a few minutes to take some shots at this station.

I have been here many times and this is the first time I have seen this house with that sign: "Caballito Este".

Another aspect that I would like to mention is that before arriving here I had begun to have a love for photography, from time to time I would practice with a friend's camera and when I got here this intensified, but I didn't have a camera, I only took photos with my phone and I didn't know about Hive either. I loved the architecture, the urban planning of the city and also the subway, the trains and the stations, especially those that are outdoors.

What is very curious is that today I work for one of those companies, the Buenos Aires subway and before that I wanted to work for these train companies.

I have visited many stations on this Sarmiento branch that goes from the western part of the province of Buenos Aires to the Once station in Capital Federal. Of all this branch, the Caballito station is the most beautiful for me.

There are many favorite shots here, this is one of them. The train is just coming into the station while that person out of focus also enters through the turnstiles.

I was walking around, took a couple of photos there and then decided to enter the station, I walked back and forth along the platform while waiting for the arrival and departure of several trains. My intention was mainly to capture the action of some people leaving the train, getting on it and walking towards the exit or entrance of the station. I also initially wanted to make the photos a little cinematic but I didn't want to touch the tone adjustments too much.

What I did do was darken the surroundings, I don't remember why I wanted that result and highlight the focused point. I see many references daily to street shots by authors I follow, I guess it comes from there.

These two are other of my favorites, I think they reach a bit of the cinematographic aesthetic.

At this station there is a walkway that allows pedestrian crossing towards both directions west zone and CABA, I went up there to try to get some shots from above while the passengers arrive the train. I used the longest focal length lens I had at the time, 55-200mm, an old lens that has been very useful to me in street photography.

I would like to think that I can visit other stations to do the same thing I did in this one, the drawbacks are that they are not very safe, there are stations in neighborhoods with a high crime rate and the truth is, it's not a very good idea to take your camera out there, not even your phone. But now that I'm writing this, I remember that there are train stations in the northern area, it's probably more accessible there and I might consider doing it.

I really liked this image because you can see how dangerous it can be to stand there while the train passes. I don't know if it's allowed but people do it anyway.
