The Palace... Rehearsal Rooms and Rock Bar [ENG/ESP]

The name of this rehearsal room honors the place where it is located, it is literally a palace, obviously the name was chosen because of this building. I have visited other rehearsal rooms and they have not captivated me like this one. As we go up the stairs we find the Hall where there is a Rock Bar with a theme and good lighting.

El nombre de esta sala de ensayo le hace honor al lugar donde se encuentra, es literalmente un palacio, obviamente el nombre fué elegido por este edificio. He visitado otras salas de ensayo y no me han cautivado cómo esta. Al subir las escaleras no encontramos con el Hall en dónde hay un Rock Bar con temática y buena iluminación.

This is what you see at the entrance, a pair of violins on the side of the walls and two Marshall amplifiers with their respective heads. Besides the structure and the architectural design of the building you are attracted by the contrast of aesthetics and lights between one side and the other.

The interior is surrounded by very comfortable armchairs, on top of which they placed many guitars of different brands and models and a small replica of The Beatles' drum set... They have bartender service, you can enjoy signature drinks, some good beers before and after your rehearsal... even smoking is allowed.

Esto es lo que ves en la entrada, par de violines de costado en las paredes y dos amplificadores Marshall con sus respectivos cabezales. Además de la estructura y el diseño de arquitectura del edificio te atrae el contraste de estética y luces entre un lado y otro.

El interior está rodeado de sillones muy cómodos, encima de éstos colocaron muchas guitarras de diferentes marcas y modelos y una pequeña réplica de la batería de The Beatles... Tienen servicio de Bartenders, puedes disfrutar de tragos de autor, algunas buenas cervezas antes y posterior a tu ensayo... está permitido fumar, incluso.

Here we were sitting waiting for the arrival of some friends, members of a Metal band who invited me to see their rehearsal and listen to their songs. We had a couple of beers before going in 🍺

Acá estábamos sentados esperando la llegada de algunos amigos, integrantes de una banda de Metal quienes me hicieron la invitación a ver su ensayo y escuchar sus canciones. Tomamos un par de cervezas antes de entrar 🍺

When we entered the rehearsal room all the musicians were doing what is customary, setting up the drums, tuning the instruments and warming up the voice, testing the equipment and equalizing everything in relation to the type of sound they handle, while this was happening I set up my camera and placed my 50 mm lens because the intention was also to take some pictures and test the results obtained from all this.

Cuando entramos a la sala de ensayo todos los músicos hacían lo que se acostumbra, armar la batería, afinar los instrumentos y calentar la voz, probar los equipos y ecualizar todo en relación al tipo de sonido que ellos manejan, mientras esto sucedía yo configuraba mi cámara y colocaba mi lente 50 mm porque la intención además era tomarle algunas fotos y probar que resultados obtenidos de todo esto.

The first thing I told everyone was not to pose in front of the camera while rehearsing, I proposed the idea that they do the rehearsal and imagine that I'm not there so I could capture scenes as spontaneous as possible and that's what happened in this shot.

It looks like the bass player is telling the guitar player with his eyes that he made a mistake 😂

Lo primero que les dije a todos fué que no posen delante de la cámara mientras estén ensayando, propuse la idea de que realicen el ensayo e imaginen que yo no estoy allí de esta forma podría capturar escenas lo más espontáneas posibles y fue lo que sucedió en ésta toma.

Pareciera que el bajista con la mirada le dice al guitarrista que se equivocó en algo 😂

I like this photo very much, the guitarist was located right where the red background is, looking the other way and you can see how he makes a chord on his guitar.

Esta foto me gusta muchísimo, el guitarrista estaba ubicado justo donde está un fondo rojo, mirando hacia otro lado y se puede apreciar como hace un acorde en su guitarra.

At the time of going I thought the rehearsal room would be bigger and that the 50mm lens would be enough, in a sense it was, but I would have liked a 35mm more for the dimensions of the room, so some of the photos have a zoom that I was not looking for.

Al momento de ir pensaba que la sala de ensayo sería más grande y que el lente 50mm sería suficiente, en cierto sentido lo fué pero me hubiese gustado más un 35mm para las dimensiones de la sala, así que algunas de las fotos tienen un acercamiento que no buscaba.

I had previously shared a black and white version of this moment and it seemed appropriate to do it now in color.

Ya había compartido anteriormente una versión en bla con y negro de este momento y me pareció oportuno hacerlo ahora en color.

This girl is the vocalist of the band (Power Metal) and who knows about this musical genre knows that it requires a lot of vocal technique, reaching very high notes and having good breathing technique. She has all this, she is impressively good at it.

Esta chica es la vocalista de la banda (Power Metal) y quién conoce sobre este género musical sabe que se requiere de mucha técnica vocal, alcanzar notas muy altas y tener buena técnica de respiración. Todo esto lo tiene ella, es impresionantemente buena en esto.

The band had hired this room for a period of 3 hours, when that time was over we went out to chat and I took some group photos but something didn't go very well. That day I took only one flash and I didn't notice the batteries 😯 when I was going to take these pictures the batteries were dead, the ISO over 25,000 was not enough and it generated a lot of noise. The last option was to take them with the built-in flash of the camera.

La banda había contratado esta sala por un periodo de 3 horas, cuando terminó ese tiempo salimos a charlar y les tomé algunas fotos en grupo pero algo no salió muy bien. Ese día lleve solo un flash y no me percaté de las baterías 😯 cuando iba a tomarle éstas fotos las baterías se habían descargado, el ISO a más de 25.000 no era suficiente y me generaba mucho ruido. La última opción fué tomarlas con el flash incorporado de la cámara.

Even though I don't like to do this there was no choice and since we were just a group of friends enjoying the moment there wasn't much to worry about. In my opinion some pictures didn't turn out well, others not so much, but here they are 😅

A pesar de que no me gusta hacer esto no había opción y como solo éramos un grupo de amigos disfrutando del momento no había mucho de que preocuparse. En mi opinión algunas fotos no salieron bien, otras no tanto, pero acá están 😅

Another photo we did that was main and we had already talked about it was to take some individual photos of each member, I think they had a plan for their website or use in the networks, promotion for upcoming concerts in the city or something like that. So we did it quickly before starting the rehearsal.

The poses with characteristics of this kind of Metal bands or all the Rock genre and subgenres. A lot of character, seriousness, crossed arms and the typical sign taught to us by the master Ronnie James Dio 🤘🏻

Otra de las fotos que hicimos que fué principal y ya lo habíamos hablado fué tomarle algunas fotos individuales a cada integrante, creo que tenían una planificación para su página web o uso en las redes, promoción para próximos conciertos en la ciudad o algo por el estilo. Así que lo hicimos rápido antes de empezar el ensayo.
