Here in Bali, we still use the caste system, and some of them including the Kings, and Queen from the former Kingdoms that existed before the Indonesian independence. Although they don't have any political power anymore, they still have a big influence on the Balinese culture and also the society. And I would love to also see them in real life.
But then I got a surprise visit from a Queen, who was unfortunately not from any of the former kingdoms in Bali, but a queen from another kind of Kingdom. That night I got a visit from the Weaver Ant Queen.
At first, I was not so sure what is this, although it did look like the usual weaver ant that I photographed before. But this one has wings, a bigger body and also a darker red color, and a slight yellow color on its abdomen.
And thanks to Google Lens, I finally learned that this one is the queen of the weaver ants. I was not very sure how it could end up inside the kitchen area. It might be attracted to the light, or it is just a migration to make a new colony since it was raining that day.
But after all, I got a new subject to photograph. This queen also didn't move too fast, so I could get so many good photos.
