A Walk through the Forest with Gnarly Trees

in #hive-194913last month

After a week or so of grey weather, summer seemed to return today. The sun was out and it got quite warm as we took a walk through part of Sherwood Forest in Nottingham, UK. It is a particularly interesting circular walk with many old gnarled trees.

When we arrived at the forest, the first thing that caught our attention was the lovely blue sky. It was a welcome change from the dull, overcast days that we'd had.

We followed the winding path into the forest, taking in the sights and sounds.

The leaves were falling off the trees all around us.

Along the footpath, every now and again we'd come across a dead or gnarled tree. Some of them looked like they could tell a few stories or two.

We sat down on a large log nearby, taking a moment to have a breather.

After a while, we got up and continued our walk through the forest, leaves rustling under our feet until we got back to the car.

Wow that tress would tell lots of stories if they ever could talk. I wonder how old they are but they represent the ever standing side of the nature. They may die and fall but look at all the other green around. It just transforms! Very nice pictures @ellenripley.

Thank you. They were a bit creepy as well. 🙂

That's a deception, ignore it 🙂

If only we could listen to the stories those trees tell, I bet there would be some doozies. I love how different they look and you got some great photos.

Thank you very much @sunscape. ❤️
