In Search of the Northern Lights

in #hive-1949133 months ago

Last night, there was a red alert for the northern lights, which meant there was a chance to see them. We decided to head up to the moors. It was probably the best place of catching a glimpse of the lights. As we made our way up, we noticed a few other people had the same idea as us.

The night was lovely and cool, which was very welcome after a few hot days.

As we reached the top of the moors, we scanned the horizon for any sign of the northern lights.

Unfortunately, we didn't see much in the way of colourful lights dancing across the sky, just a glimpse.

However, we did spot the 'Plough' also known as the 'Big Dipper' shining brightly above us. It's not a constellation but an asterism, which means it's a number of stars that make an identifiable shape. SourceIf you look closely, you can just see the stars. They resemble a saucepan. Perhaps we might be luckier next time.

So! That’s beautiful! You could really sea the Northern Lights in the UK.

It saves a lot of money going on a cruise to see them. 😁

I would never go on a cruise! I get sea sick easily!😂

I took sea sickness tablets, just in case. They worked a treat as the sea was very rough.

Quite a show of tonalities that you were able to capture. Best regards !
