Animal Photos, Some Random Photos And A Lot Of Fun

in #hive-194913last year

It's been ages since my last random photo post, so it's time for a new one. For today I've selected a few photos that I found interesting fro different reasons. Each photo comes with a description, explanation, so those who don't see what I see, can understand what they are seeing 😁

I'm going to start with one of my favorites, which is a close photo of a mara. According to Wikipedia:

Maras, subfamily Dolichotinae, are a group of rodents in the family Caviidae. These large relatives of guinea pigs are common in the Patagonian steppes of Argentina, but also live in Paraguay and elsewhere in South America. source

I wanted to take a close up photo of this cutie, but I'm afraid my attempt failed miserably. Some of them were just resting in the shadow, while others were having lunch. This cutie was very close to the fence and was constantly picking up grass and eating, which means moving all the time. I tried to take as many photos as I could, hoping to get one or two decent ones. Needless to say the majority were useless and ended up in the recycle bin. This one however is funny. From photographic point of view, there are a lot of red flags, but at least its nose is visible.

Managed to take another shot, after it finished its lunch.

Have you ever been so close to a white tiger or bleached tiger? I have 😂. Ok, I don't want to make you believe I'm this brave. There was a very thick and most likely bullet proof glass between us. So I took 27 photos of this lovely cub, of which I think 24 will end up in the bin. He was so full of energy, was moving non stop. Add the glass and the reflection to that, plus the people around me and you know why the photos go to the bin. In any case, this little tiger was cute, looked like a toy.

The ring-tailed lemur, that was hiding from the sun, bot was still curious about the visitors. I was standing under the tree, but was very cautious as I know how cheeky and aggressive monkeys can be at times. However, not these. These were very calm, friendly even and this is why visitors were let in the big cage, where they are spending the day. At some point, he turned his back on me and his tail was hanging down the tree. I toughed his fur with one finger, he did not notice it, thank God.

Here, I saw an opportunity to capture the landscape, though the fence. This may look strange for you, but it's actually a good game for many photographer. Obviously, doing that comes with some challenges as the camera tried to focus on the fence as that was closer, so I had to readjust the settings, but I did it in the end.

And this is the photo I took, when the focus was on the fence. Which one is your favorite?

Please don't go away as I have more odd photos for you!

So, have you ever tried to take photos of a car window, while it's being washed? I have 😂. Yeah, I know, you have to be crazy to do that, but result is cool, so bear with me.

There was a guy standing not far from the car and I liked how the wet glass distorted the image.

So while the window was being washed, I took as many photos as possible, just for fun.

Some of the photos were bad, others less bad, but I think I've managed to capture some good ones too. Or at least fun ones in my opinion.

I left the funniest one last 😂.

At first I thought I'll let you tell me what do you see in the photo, but there's a chance some of you would see nothing special, so let me explain.

I'm not the type of photographer (yet), to set up scenes and work with models, but here, the situation asked for it.

Maybe some of you may remember, about two months ago, I was at the Red lake and after that, visited the canyon. It was a rainy day and when mother nature decides to send rain in the mountains, she's not joking. You have no shelter in the canyons and unless you have a diving suit, you get wet.

So some of our teammates had these yellow plastic raincoats, with served for nothing, unless you count the laugh the others had just by looking at them struggling not to get wet. At some point it became obvious that the rain won't stop and we decided to sent the two drivers back to bring the cars to pick us up. While waiting in a parking lot, we had no other job to have fun. These two yellow people were sitting on the side of the road and another one told them, if the garbage collectors swing by, they may take you two too, as you don't look any different than the garbage bags. It was funny, but was also true.

So I told them to sit between the two green garbage bags and this is how the photo turned out 😂. In the end we all got wet, but it was a lot of fun and this photo makes us laugh each time we look at it.

So this post is a bit crazy, but we can't be serious all the time, can we?!

I am very interested in the photo of a maras chewing grass. At first I thought it was a deer, it turned out that maras & that animal doesn't exist in my area Aceh, Indonesia.

Yeah, the maras were quite funny. These are not native here, you can only find them at the zoo.

The photos of the animals are cute, I love the one of the tiger looks like a cub, those of the glass when they pass the washing brush look very interesting.

That was a cute one and I'm glad I could take at least one decent photo.

Hello dear friend @erikah good day
I loved this selection of images that you show us on this occasion, those of animals are excellent.
I appreciate that you have shared this beautiful selection of photographs.
Have a beautiful day

I'm glad you liked them @jlufer, it was a lot of fun capturing them, even with the difficulties I faced. Happy weekend.

Now that's what I call a proper Zoo experience, lol. So many lovely pictures! Of course, the shooting skills talk for themselves too, but animals played an important role too being pretty close and not hiding as much as my animals haha. And the end of the post is epic!

Thank you Gabriela, I wouldn't brag about my shooting skills, this was luck maybe, to catch a few from close. If they are far, which is mostly the case, only a professional camera with a proper lens can save you.

Lo, I'm glad you liked the last photo 😂 I wish I could do more similar ones as I love this type of photography, but these occasions are rare as this was spontaneous. Those crappy raincoats served for something good.

Let's see what I can do once summer is over. I have a plan for a different type of photography.

I've never seen a white tiger in person,😁

Lol, I have 😁

I was born year of the tiger. a white tiger is a must see.

Have you seen one?

Not in person yet.

Today I learned about the ring tailed lemur for the first time and saw its picture! I should know about animals but regret not knowing, ring tailed lemur's eyes caught my eye, how beautiful!

No worries as you can't know all the animal species, there are so many. A zoo is a good thing in this regard as you can see them from close.

I didn't expect the last picture. I thought it was certainly a garbage bag. Lol. Reading your description, that's the only time I recognize that they are people, and that makes me laugh. HAHAHAHA

Lol, that is a shocker, but in a good way. Funny, isn't it?

A great mix of photos! 😍 The close-up of Curious Mara is fascinating - it's amazing that these creatures are found in different parts of South America. The interaction with the white tiger cub through the glass must have been exciting! 🐅 And that winking ring-tailed lemur is absolutely cute. 🐵 Capturing scenes over obstacles can be difficult, but the view over the fence is definitely worth it. 📸 The rainy window shots add a fun touch, especially the one with the people in raincoats reminiscent of the garbage bag fashion! 😄

The truth is, we never have the perfect setup for photography. Never! I used to having obstacles as I go to art galleries a lot and reflection and light are my biggest enemies, so I'm used to it and always find a way.

And then there are those funny moments you photograph just for fun, like the garbage bad people 😂

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Exactly! 😁

I love the idea! So creative. Tbf, it took me a moment to understand what's going on and then I read your description. Did you also tell them to pose or did you take random 30 photos of which 29 went to the bin? 😆

I love capybara! Wish someday I can meet some.

Tbf, it took me a moment to understand what's going on and then I read your description.

Lol, I knew it would be better to explain what's going on there as most people just scroll through the photos and think I have lost my mind and photographed 4 garbage bags.

Did you also tell them to pose or did you take random 30 photos of which 29 went to the bin? 😆

Lol, no, they knew what to do on their own, but I had to adjust the head of one of them and now looking at the photos, I did a crappy job, should have made then hold their heads at a similar level, but the weather was brutal, so I was happy they agreed to do the modeling. I took 4 photos 😁

These are not capybaras. These are maras. The capybaras were in hiding, we were looking for them and most likely they were in the water, far away, or hiding somewhere. maybe next time, if we're lucky. It was terribly hot and poor animals were seeking shelter where they could.

The photos are cool you made! My family and I also love going to the zoo! I even wrote a post about it with lots of photos. The animals in our zoo are different from yours. Success to you!

There are over 700 animals in this zoo, belonging to 150 species, so some may be similar, but I haven't posted them yet.
