Attending A Photo Exhibition

in #hive-1949132 years ago

This post is going to be a bit weird as I'm going to show photos of photos. How is that possible you might ask? I went to an art exhibition last week, where one of the section was about photography. If you're not a photographer, you just go and look at the photos, admire them (or not), then go home. If you're a photographer ... and let's stop there. Who do you call photographer? Some consider photographers people who have a big camera with half a meter long photographic objective, who's hired by a newspaper, magazine or a website. Well, times change and these days anyone can be a photographer, you, me, them, anyone.

Attending A Photo Exhibition.jpg

Why am I saying this? Because if you consider yourself a photographer, you can take photos of anything you like, even other photographs, printed ones of course and that's exactly what I did. The reason I did that was to learn and also to have them in my collection. You don't need to have a professional camera, or be hired by anyone. Those days belong to the past. This is a new era.

Photo Exhibition.jpg

Before I start, I want to show you the exhibition room, which is not a usual one, but it's great from photographic point of view. The rooms are at the top level of the building, which is the mansard actually, and the light has been adapted to the purpose. As you can see, there are adjustable spots, aimed at the exhibited pieces and not the room itself. This helps a lot with avoiding reflection and you'll se that on the photos. We were alone up there, so I turned on the lights, which was really cool, but I made a mistake ad the last room, where there were photos on all the walls. I should have turned on the lights just on one side, take photos, turn the lights off, then turn the light on on the other side. Now I know, next time I'll do better. I promise as I need better photos :D

This is called Winter Blanket and it is called that for a good reason. Most likely I'm not the only one who always wants to photograph untouched show, which is quite difficult, if you live in the city. You have two options. One is to get up brutally early, before people start to go out, or go outside the city and find a nice place, like this. What I like about this photo is that the light is coming from the side and I suppose it was taken in the afternoon. It's a nice one in any case.

This is called North American Fog. I've never been to North America and have never seen such fog but I like it.

The Mirror Of Saint Anna. The Lake Saint Anna

is the only crater lake in Romania located in the volcanic crater of the volcano named Ciomatu Mare of the Eastern Carpathians, near Tușnad in the Natural Reserve of Mohoș, Harghita County, Romania. source

I've been there, I know the lake and can tell you it's a beautiful one. However, to capture it like that, you need not only a good camera, but also optimal conditions. I see it's a bit foggy, which up there at 946 m (3,104 ft) is not surprising, but the visibility is still good. Nowadays it's quite dangerous as there are bears running around freely, but it's still possible to capture a good photo I suppose.

Alarm. Only the steps of the two chamois are visible in the snow. The rest is undisturbed nature.

Kingfisher. Here I admit, you need a good camera to be able to capture the moment.

Bears are supposed to hibernate during winter, which means sleeping in a cave, but it's not impossible to see them in the snow. I've been this close to a bear and it wasn't in the zoo, the bear was free, but I don't think I would ever risk it.

Rime. I was a bit surprised when seeing this photo as I could not understand how is it possible for only the trees to be covered with rime and not the land. One explanation could be that the land is warmer, while trees are not. I'd love to capture a similar scene one day, but who knows if I'll be lucky enough to be in the right place the right time.

Here I had to work magic to be able to capture the photo and there are still reflections, but I want to show you as you don't see such thing every day. The photo is called Minus and it refers to temperature. I'd love to know where you can see such beauty, but it doesn't say.

Background.
I'm not a fan of "A picture is worth a thousand words", but this is a clear example of that in my opinion. Two generations, grandfather and grandson, an old and wrinkled hand that worked all his life and an innocent young face, learning how life works.

Grand Station
Here I applied a filter to make it "more black and white" and it's a good one. This kind of photo takes me back to times when steam trains were in use. It's a nice capture. There's no way one can capture a photo like that these days.

Last, but not least, Chip And Dale having a snack. Unfortunately my hands are also visible, so sorry for that.

I need to mention that these photos come from different photographers.

Soo, which one is your favorite today?

True, to consider ourselves a photographer is not only when we have a long face camera, but practice make perfect, starting small can also take us to the top, thank you for saying this @erikah

There are beautiful photographs, i love the black and white photograph a lot, the one that shows when steam trains were in use.

I like that too, it's kind of a reminder of the past.

True, For a thing to bring good memories of the past that thing truly make us happy.

Grandpa and grandson looks tremendous, I was a little touched when I saw it. 🙏✨

The free teddy bear reminded me of the current season. The question that is constantly spinning in my head! "When will this bear season end?" 😂🤷

Grandpa and grandson is a very good photo indeed.

When will this bear season end?" 😂🤷

Lol, do you want a specific date? They say in 2023 or 2024, but the precise time is when the bull season starts 😂😂😂

Haha 😂😂😂😂 Many of my dreams are waiting for the bull season. I promised my dog to buy him a house with a garden because an apartment is not for him 🤷😂🐕🦺.

I hope it won't be 2024, I dreamed that it would start next March, April 🤷🙏😂

This are very beautiful pictures curated together !!!! More grace to your photography work!!!

Naturally I am mostly impressed by the kingfisher. 😀
But I have to say, that I love the bear and Chip and Dale too.

I remember you like bird photos 🙂
The other too are also nice and unique. Thanks for stopping by and have a nice evening.

when i saw the tittle i tought , great lets see what is needed to have an photography exhibiton and then
Damm those are incredible good photos those really are worth of exhibition...

Some of these photos are even un-real man they almost looks like manipulated in some ways but i know those are real life photos and that actually it was makes them insane

You can have a photo exhibition with what you have now but in order to cover the costs and save yourself from ruining your name, you need to take into consideration a few things.

However, these are indeed insanely good photos and we can all learn from them, I think.

Pictures are like music they speak universal language. I love photos though not a good photographer but lots of meaning and interpretation could be given to a single photo making it worth a thousand words . Speaking on the particular photo which got me thinking is the elderly hand on the shoulder of the young child possibly the granny is blessing the grand child and pointing to the future.

It's hard to choose one of them. All of them is really cool but I guess I'll go with Kingfisher. You need a good camera, you need a good timing and you need a right place to take it. Really adorable one.

You are right, you need all of those to be able to take a good photo like that. I'm never able to take bird photos. Once I wanted to take some photos of a pigeon and when I looked at what I captured, the bird wasn't on the photo as it flew away 😂

I can't take bird photos too. My poor iPhone 6 can't take good photos from far away and when I try to get closer they just fly.

Welcome to the club 😃

I didn't attend a lot of exhibitions in my life but a few months ago I went to one where my sister had a picture part of it and it was a crazy experience :) But yeah, it's always subjective who are the real photographers and who don't ...

The world is changing and with the tools and apps we have today, performance can be obtained easily. I'm gkad to hear your sister got her photo displayed at an exhibition. Congratulations to her 😀

All photos have a very meaningful and useful meaning to apply in our lives, understand the situation outside and compare it to ourselves.

According to your content i think you are a photographer.
Really impressive collection.

This is the kind of exhibition that I want to visit since I am learning photography now. So nice to see these photos! Thanks for sharing, Erikah!

My pleasure and I'm glad you like them. Maybe I'll be able to post more in the future.

I can't agree more to what you said that everyone of us can be a photographer now. I myself don't have those fancy cameras but I just have my broken phone. You just need to be passionate when you take one. Get the right angle and click that.

For me I will choose the Background. It's just a simple one but it shows how this life works. As the time passes by, we may not like it but the time will come that our skin will form those wrinkles. It shows the essence of time also.
All in all those are great photos.

You need to be passionate, practice a lot and results will come. There's a lot of history and emotion on that one, tells you a lot of stories without words.

That's absolutely right. It's just amazing how it shows a lot of stories without words written into it.

Not so weird after all, hehe. I do take photos of photographed images too and they don't look as beautiful as these, well I think the quality of the phone's camera was the reason though 😂.

The art exhibition center has really beautiful photos, but I think I will go with the mirror of Saint Anna, I love it for two reasons, first the color blue and the second version because of the scene, the clouds appearing in the water, I !LUV it, it's my favorite ❤️.

Thank you so much for sharing all of these beautiful photos with us, I always end up liking all of your photos because of the stories or explanations you give to them, I look forward to seeing more of your photos photographed, hehe.

The mirror of Saint Anna is gorgeous. I hope to visit the lake once again but I'm not sure if I can take such good photos.

You can still take good photos of photos but it depends on how those are exposed and the light contributes as well, sometimes in a negative way, unfortunately.

It's fine if you can't take a photo as beautiful as that, I'm sure I will love it, but that's if I will be privileged to see it though.

Yeah I figured that out and that's how I've been managing my phone while taking a photo or making a video but most times it is just so tiring 😂.

Beautiful collection . And i love that picture of Lake St. Anne

Thank you! That is indeed beautiful. Nice pick.
