Learning From Pros

Looking at the photos I took at the last photo exhibition made me think of how I have neglected photography. Don't get me wrong, I still take photos, but mostly at exhibitions and not purely for the sake of artistic photography as the conditions at the exhibition are what they are. You have to work magic to be able to take some half decent shots and the angles most of the times are limited. You do what you can, to capture the photos or the artworks displayed, in order to have them forever. If I can't have the original, at least to have the photos of them.

Granny's Bus

I looked at this photo and the attic scene brought back a lot of memories. Most likely I'm not the only one who's grandparents' attic had a lot of similar treasures. I've never seen such a pram in real life, just in the movies as it must be really old, but I'd love to see one for sure. Vine jar, spinner and other treasures you can find in these attics, all excellent for a monochrome, or sepia photo. Those old habits of storing everything you don't need in the attic now pay off as photos like this are real treasures. I used to go up to the attic of my grandmother, but mostly to capture the beam of light and the dust the beam of light can accentuate so nicely. Time has stopped at the attic for sure and this photo reminded me of what I should do next time I'm there.

Sheep Also Like Peaceful Grazing

At first glance I didn't even realize what I was looking at. All I saw was the nice brown color of the pasture and the line in the middle, then I saw the herd. How lucky you should be to capture such a scene.

Only The Prayer Keeps The Soul In Her

For me, this photo is the cherry on the cake. When I saw it, was thinking, you need some skills and some luck as well, to capture such a scene. I don't have the skill needed here, or the knowledge to be more precise and can only hope I'm going to have it one day. Choosing black and white here was a smart decision.

Lines

I was looking at this photo and looked familiar to me. It seemed like I've seen it before, but wasn't sure. I think I've seen a color photo, but I don't know if it was this, or a different one. Regardless, the shot is excellent. I haven't seen such a land so far, or I haven't payed attention, but will in the future.

Raining Heavily

You need a few things in order to take such a photo, like a boar running, rain and a good spot where you can capture such a photo without being seen by the boar. Personally I don' think I'll have the chance, because I'm kind of afraid of them, they could be dangerous. This is why I appreciate photos like this, because it's not easy to capture them.

Bumps

This is a man and nature created scene. I love the photo, it's very unusual, which makes it more valuable in my eyes.

Betting On Two Horses

These are photos with scenes you need to choreograph yourself, but you also need to see the opportunity and recognize the possibility as no one is going to do it for you. Talent, skill and opportunity are the main ingredients and not only.

I think you can learn a lot just by going to these exhibition and paying attention to the details.

Very nice shots. I really enjoyed looking into them. I bet they were even better in person. Like you I didn't notice the sheep at first in the one picture. Thanks for sharing. Hope you are having a great week.

Yes, unfortunately the camera can't give you back what the human eye sees at the scene. I was so excited and happy to see these amazing photos at the gallery, then when I started editing the photos for the post, all I could see were the imperfections of the frames and the dirty marks on the wall.

It's a totally different experience.

I still enjoy viewing what you share. I don't notice anything like that at all. I just notice the subject of the pictures...except the sheep, LOL.

Nice post. I always like photo exhibits. This one is a good combination of technically difficult shots and great unique subjects like the boar in the rain or the perfectly groomed field.

That is a fantastic one for sure. Next week I'm going to post the rest of the photos.

it's all so amazing, thanks for sharing and I really enjoyed it :)

I'm glad you like it 😊

Hi @erikah, I especially like Granny's Bus. That pram is a classic, yes I've also never seen one that old although I may have been pushed around in one when I was a baby😅
I'm trying to figure out 'Betting on Two Horses', a silhouette of the man with a hat, possibly of a horse as well, or is my imagination running away with me?

Hello lovely @lizelle. Good choice, that pram is a nice one, even though it's a piece for museums now.

Betting on two horses is a horse and its shadow on the wooden gate. Can you see it?

You've become quite a museum lover (maybe you always were), Erika! If those artists would understand their works will live in Web 3. 😀 Although the images are still on a regular image server, not on a blockchain. But still, something worthy to put on here.

I've always been but not at this level. Now these visits serve as an hour of traveling to another world. I've changed quite a lot lately and look at art with a totally different eye.

And yes, it's a good thing to record everything on the blockchain 😀
