Manipulation And Reality

in #hive-19491311 months ago

The other day I posted the first part of the photo exhibition I visited this week. The title of the exhibition was The Woman, The Eternal Mystery and not without a reason. Ladies are the main focus of the exhibition and a lot of angle is covered in this regard. And yes, some say women are eternal mystery. Is it? Who knows :)

Lady In The Night

This was a very interesting composition. Pairing the wolves in the night with the lady with a mask is something I would have never thought of. It's not really what I would be looking for, but it's interesting.

Zig-Zag In Nature

This was a cheeky, but good one.

Adele In The Tunnel

There's something with naked ladies posing in rough places as the concept has always been popular. This was a dark tunnel, with no light at the other end. I don't know where the photo was taken, but I'd gladly take a look at it in real life. Based on the narrowness of the space, I suppose it's manipulation, but maybe I'm wrong.

Sigma Upside Down

A very well known pose, I suppose you can call it classic in photography, when it comes to nudes, yet, there's always a way to make it interesting. Unfortunately the reflections take away from the value of it a lot.

The photo on the right was a very good one, but unfortunately the individual photo I took at the gallery is terrible due to reflections. It's about the same lady sitting in the tunnel, which is a manipulation of course.

Devotion In White

Another interesting setup. If have a good look, you can see that the light behind the lady is the inverse of the shape of her dress, or it's just me seeing that.

Sunbathing

As I mentioned, naked ladies and rough places. However, that red scarf (or whatever it is) is breaking the color balance nicely.

At The River Bank, Alone

The same lady as the one above, but in a slightly different position this time and wrapped in the red scarf, which adds some mystery to the nude.

Relaxing At The Waterfall

I'll let this for you to decide, if it's manipulation or not.

On The Stage Of Life

Looking at this photo at home made me smile. Why? Because of he whole setup, title and meaning. A similar effect was used here as in case of Devotion In White, but with less light this time. What made me smile is the title and the reflection of my silhouette on the photo. Well, life is like that, someone or something always comes in and ruin your plans. In this case I came in and ruined the photo with my silhouette, but if I want to be honest, it was the shiny surface of the paper.

Yin Yang

Over the years I've seen quite a few ideas and interpretation of the yin yang in art, photography as well, but never like this. It's interesting to see it framed in a square, half black and half white.

Love Dream

This exhibition can be divided in two parts in my opinion. One was the photo manipulation, which you saw here and in my previous post and the other was the batch that is coming soon. I wanted to separate them as you can't mix the two styles, you'll see why.

Visiting the exhibition and posting about it too, gives me the opportunity to think about what I see, twice. At gallery you have the first impression, but looking at each photo, painting, or whatever is exhibited, gives you the chance to see it in a different light and I'm not saying this literally.

I think it's safe to say this type of photography is not my cup of tea. I have a huge admiration for those who have the knowledge to create such artistic photos because I don't. I had time to think if it motivates me to start learning and experimenting and the answer is no. Somehow I have no desire to pursue this path. Most likely at some point, when I'm going to have some free time to spend on exploring photo manipulation, I'm going to try out a few things, but I don't think it's going to grow on me.

Amazing gallery

It was indeed in different ways.

Just Wow :)
Don't have words to describe your work :(

It's not her work, is an exhibition she visited

Capturing photos and writing words about that is her work :)

Lol ok

hahaha yeah :)

Thank you.

This are amazing collections of beautiful 😍 photos.

The Relaxing At The Waterfall Photo is diffidently a manipulation.

I understand this collection did not motivate you in its own direction of been an artist, but this amazing collection will have a way of inspiring and motivating many like me who find artistic work as a thing of joy. Regardless I believed your enjoyed your little tour.

Well, if the photo motivate anyone, I'm happy.

Beautiful photo graphs, beauty women

The originals are beautiful in their own way.

Excelentes fotos como siempre, 🤩👏 buen trabajo

Thank you, although mine are not.

Excellent exposure as your photos. Women are always a source of inspiration for any artist. 😀

You're right, women have always inspired artists, we have plenty of proof for that.

🥰🥰🥰🥰

Me gustaron mucho las fotografías donde se rompe el equilibrio del color, ese color fuerte que desentona con el contexto al menos a mi me genera como que la foto es irreal, me cuesta encontrarle la realidad a la foto cuando las piensan así.

You and me both, this is why I had to have a good look at home and see which photo is real and which is manipulation, but most, if not all are manipulation.

o.o me siento engañado ajajajjajaja pero que genial darse cuenta que nuestro cerebro lo detecta y ve que hay algo extraño

Zig Zag is my favorite of this group. This type of art is not really my cup of tea. But some are very well done like Sigma upside down or Lady in a red hat.

That makes two of us, but it was nice to go through the photos and have a detailed look.

Very sensual, pieces of art.

Yes, for those who like this style, it sure is.

Lovely exhibition

It was in a way, yes.

La mujer definitivamente la creación más hermosa de nuestro Dios.

Yes, men say that :)

There is, I think, a certain richness in the artistic representation of fans. I don't think I'm getting too wet when I say that haha. I have a hard time understanding the first one. What's your take on it? I don't see what it could represent.

I read something once, I can't remember where, maybe at school, that said women's nudity often symbolizes a kind of vulnerability. Sometimes authenticity, depending on the rest of the composition. The mask in general signifies the "social mask", i.e. the role we play in society.

So, if it hadn't been for the wolves, it might simply have meant "the role we play in society in relation to our true selves.

Perhaps the wolves evoke the brutality of life in the face of a woman's vulnerability? Perhaps even taking it a step further, a woman's strength of character and power in the face of her other, more sensitive side? Wow, while writing my commentary, I may have found: the mask is the wolves for the attitude a woman adopts in society to protect herself, nudity for her vulnerability?

I'm really intrigued by this composition.

I think it's the first time I've spent so much time looking at a work of art. You're starting to have an impact on me haha.

I have a hard time understanding the first one. What's your take on it? I don't see what it could represent.

I'm not an expert on these things, but when I look at it, I see the wolves singing to the moon, or whatever you call what they are doing, which to me means night as the moon has to be out. It's a bit of a paradox as the lady is naked and has a mask too, which at night counts less. Honestly, I think I have no clue 😁 However, i love your take on it. It's detailed and deep. I haven't thought of those things you're mentioning.

If you look at my profile, you can see I visit a number of exhibitions weekly and see all kinds of arts, from sculptures, textile and fiber art to paintings and photos. There's always a riddle to solve as I'm always trying to figure out what the artist meant. It's a fun game, but you never know if you're right or not.

You're starting to have an impact on me haha.

Oh boy!!! Another victim of mine? 😂 You're not the firs 😛

It's just that there's so much more to this work than meets the eye. As such, I'm not a fan of the composition visually speaking. It's not something I could display at home.

But the artist really had a message to get across here. As always, yes, but here I feel it was a stronger message.

To be honest, I think it's the first time since I was 10 years old that I've looked at a work this closely. And again, because when I was 10, I laughed in my teacher's face when she said that such and such a work meant this or that. But now I realize that it's not really what the artist wants to say that's interesting, but rather how we see things through our own prism.

Of course, it would be interesting if the artist could then explain what he really meant, but only after we've tried to guess.

Of course, it would be interesting if the artist could then explain what he really meant, but only after we've tried to guess.

That's exactly what I think. Usually at openings you can get an explanation from the artist, but I don't go to openings because there's a crowd and I like my experience to be untouched. When they tell you what you're going to see, you will no longer form your opinion, but go on with the artist view and I don't want that. After visiting the exhibition, yes, than it would be nice to know, but that never happens :)
