Out Of The Box Art, Again

in #hive-1949138 months ago

If you haven't had enough art for a week, here's another dose. This is going to be something different, meaning out of the box art and I hope you'll like it as much as I do. To be honest, it's time to say Thank You to all of you who are commenting and supporting my art posts regularly. Art these days is not so popular, at least that's how I see it. There's a segment who would like art, but has no possibility to visit galleries and there are those who have all the possibilities, but are not interested. Life is like that, so we have to make the most of what we have and I'm glad I can bring art to you, regularly.

What you're going to see today is the last batch of paintings from Vera Dan, an amazing and very talented contemporary artist. I'm very fortunate to have had the chance to visit her exhibition and regret not being able to buy one of her paintings.

Toșa

I must confess, I have no idea what the title means. After running a search, it seems the word is used as surname in Romanian, but what it mans remains a mystery for now. Whatever it means, it doesn't matter, what matters is the painting and it's a lovely one in my opinion. I see a funny clown playing an instrument. Maybe it's not a clown but that's how I see it. The best thing about the painting is the visible brush strokes and the vivid colors.

The Bench

Interesting moment depicted by the artist. What I love about this is the colorfulness and the dark background emphasizes the vivid colors even more. The kids are cute.

The Station

This is a lovely one, but heartbreaking in the same time. I love the neutral background that makes the color of the dresses more prominent. Why heartbreaking? Seeing a young mother alone with a child and a baby, plus a suitcase at the station is not a happy scene. But the painting is excellent, especially because the artist chose to keep all eyes on the baby.

Venice

This is where things get interesting. There were quite a lot of paintings I would have loved to have from that exhibition, and this was definitely one of them. Not so much because of the theme, more like for the mix of colors the artist used. Somehow I felt attracted to the painting the minute I saw it. I'm not a huge fan of carnivals, due to the masks. I love the costumes, who doesn't, but covering faces scares me a bit, or makes me uncomfortable to be precise. However, that doesn't make me like this painting less. It's fantastic! (Reminds me of @blind-spot wearing a Casanove mask in Venice 😬😆)

Pawn On A Chess Board

This is a complex one, but no less interesting and valuable. I love this too and would be happy to own it. It's a nice abstract composition with perfect colors. As you already know, the artist likes to place a couple of elements that are out of place and here we have footprints. Is it a problem? Not in my eyes, I think it makes the composition more interesting. The shoe prints are not a match, and as you can see, the steps are turning left. Interesting for sure.

Slices Of Life

Those vertical line I suppose mean the slices of life. Look at the face, or the mask, hung out with some clips.

Here I have a riddle for you, those who have read my previous posts about this exhibition. The artist has a few recurring element she likes to use. One of those is present on this canvas. Let's see who knows what it is. I'm really curious to see if someone can name it 😁

Pandemic

This is a brilliant one and I am tagging @blind-spot again, I hope he won't mute me after biting my head off. I've never seen a medical theme painting like this before. Of course, you see hearts sculpted and painted, but not paintings like this. I love how the face of the patient is covered, most likely symbolizes confidentiality, but what's more interesting is the peeling sleeve, in order to free the spot when the shot is administrated. It reminded me of those fish cans that you had to roll up the top of it, with a key. It's brilliant in my eyes. Love it!

Breaking News

This is kind of a puzzle for me. It's a medical theme for sure, but I'm not sure if I understand what it means. Is the patient still alive? Is the patient's passing the breaking news? I'm not sure. Apart from the title and what it could refer to, the details are amazing.

The talent of the artist is unquestionable. I've seen many amazing artworks from many talented artist, each different of course, and I'm sure I will remind these paintings for quite a long time.

Let's see, which one is your favorite and don't forget the riddle in this post :)

I have a phobia of medical instruments! Seriously, I even get uncomfortable seeing the equipment for annual BP tests, and break out into a cold sweat when I have to have travel injections, it is weird, the procedure doesn't bother me...it is just seeing the equipment! SO the last two me no likey!!!!

The others are great works, I personally think that the earlier pieces are spoilt with the addition of the gilt framing, it detracts they eye and seems out of place?

Most likely no one likes medical instruments, but to develop a phobia ... You must have experienced something really unpleasant that led to phobia.

As about the framing, that counts as much as the artwork, in my opinion. I often mention the frames. Gilt frames are usually used to give the painting a more old look, to place it back to the 18th - 19th century, when these golden frames were a must, so to speak. I always prefer something simple, but at the end of the day, it depends on the painting too. I'm with you on this one though.

it was probably down to a 2 hour operation, under local anaesthetic, which kept wearing off, in an out patients cubicle sewing back together some severed tendons, thats after first probing the deep open wound with a sharp instrument looking for nerve damage, no anaesthetic!!!!

Afterwards even a nurse took me to one side and apologised saying that should never have happened. I should have sued but it never crossed my mind LOL, bit late now happened nearly 30 years ago

Feliz día, me gustó muchísimo la narración. Felicitaciones.

Really like your art, keep up the good work bro☺️

Beautiful paintings, I love them because they show a reality in which many single women live and struggle to raise their children.

Yes, that painting may refer to a few women in similar situation.

Oh... Pawn On A Chess Board Is a remarkably complex art-work and endowed with the power to make whoever observes it, see something expressed there about their own rebellion against social standards and thought way... At least that's what I saw and I loved that painting! (But, you know me friend @erikah, I'm a cocktail of strange thoughts)...

As always, a 100% enjoyable and very well made article!... Thank you very much for sharing this!

I think I belong to those who like art but I had no possibility of visiting, I kept wondering if a day will ever come for me to visit any exhibition.

And the painting? They are nice, the "Venice" painting is really attractive and has a lot to tell from the mask.

I think I belong to those who like art but I had no possibility of visiting, I kept wondering if a day will ever come for me to visit any exhibition.

Well, you need to make it happen as the exhibitions will definitely not go to you.

Dandelion 🙂

Lol, yes, I can guess what's your style and you knew the answer to the riddle 🤩 it was indeed the dandelion.

Wow, cool bro @erika, I thought this photo was real, but it turns out it's a picture in a frame 👍

Maybe next time try to show a bit of respect as not everyone here is your bro.

🙏🙏🙏 Forgive me
