Spring Beauties For The Eye And Nose

in #hive-1949132 years ago

For the past few weeks I've been taking photos here and there, wherever I went as I like to capture what I find interesting at that very moment. It's almost the middle of May, it's still spring but we're heading towards the end of it and pretty soon there will be no buds. Today I'm going to share those photos with you in this post, maybe you haven't seen these beauties where you live.

Let's start with the pine, which definitely can't be neglected. Even if you are colorblind, this wonderful color difference can't go unnoticed. This is what happens every year, when the new branches are growing. You see the the contrast between old, dark green and the young, kiwi green.

Maybe I'm a little biased towards it because this green is one of my favorite colors, but it is also true that I know the health benefits of these new, young branches. On this photo I was able to capture a dandelion seed as well, which is an extra.

When I was little, I've been having bad coughs and sore throats all the time and my parents have been giving me pine syrup, which had helped a lot. We used to make the pine syrup at home or get some from the mountains, but have never foraged the pine in the city. Back in those days pollution was not so bad as there was no fuel and cars were way less, but even so, vandalizing the trees was not allowed. It's not any different now. Even if we wouldn't have so much pollution, I would never pick these beauties in the city.

Romania is rich in pine forests, so if you go to the mountains you can forage your own raw material for a very good and organic cough syrup.

This is what you should harvest for a good syrup.

This was a surprise flower for me. At first glance it looks like dandelion, but it's not. This was a 1m tall bush.

Last, but not least, some white flower blossoms.

I tried to guess what it is but couldn't, so I'll have to go back later this year when the fruits appear and learn what it is. At the end of the day it doesn't matter. What matters is the wonderful scent these flowers had. It was the highlight of the day, staying under the tree and enjoying this wonderful scent.

As it always happens, I was thinking if I could bring a nose there, to smell the scent and create a perfume for me with that scent ... Yeah, dreams. The problem is these scents live in your mind for awhile, then you forget about them. It is frustrating, but the human mind or brain is not capable of remembering them for long as it's not like an image that gets printed in your retina or brain.

A Nose is a term used to describe a perfume artist, someone who is capable of portraying moods, emotions and concepts through fragrance composition. A Nose is trained over many years to develop the knowledge of a large variety of fragrance ingredients and their smells, as well as understand how the ingredients change over time and how ingredients may be altered when combined with other ingredients.

One of France’s most remarkable perfumers, Edmond Roudnitska, described as the Mozart of perfumery, said… “To create new arrangements, new olfactory forms, it is enough that you think in odours, like a painter thinks in colours, and a musician in sounds.”
Roudnitska’s most notable achievement in perfumery, is the 1956 fragrance, Diorissimo, based on the delicate floral scent of Lily Of The Valley. As the scent of Lily Of The Valley cannot be extracted, unlike other flowers such as Rose or Jasmine, Roudnitska created and solved this problem by reconstructing the smell of the beautiful flower that is now commonly used throughout the perfume industry. source

Maybe in the future we'll have some kind of smell or scent identifying and storing gadget, but that time has not come yet.

I have seen this pine plant severally before and I never knew it was medicinal. Good to know and thanks for sharing. Nice shots too you got.

It's used for medical purposes and not only cough syrup but also essential oils.

That’s great.

Love this period of the year when nature not only that makes you feel blessed with everything you see around but it also give you all the resources for some natural syrups ❤️

These are beautiful captures of natural beauties. And I love that you shared about pine syrup, another amazing nature's gift - natural medicine.

The flowers are amazing! And I can imagine the smell of pine and flowers in bloom 💗

I'm glad you like it. Nature has a lot to offer.
