Trip number 191 Animal shelter

in #hive-1949138 months ago

Hello everyone,

I enjoy taking pictures of landscapes; I love being in nature and admiring various weather anomalies. One day, by chance, I came across a cat shelter where a very kind lady takes care of cats, looks for homes for them, and helps them in general. I thought that maybe I could help by taking pictures, as it might generate more interest. So, I asked the owner if she would agree to a photo session. The lovely lady agreed, and today I had my first photo session with the animals.

Here's my request to you: could you honestly provide feedback on how it turned out, suggest any changes, and let me know if it makes sense to send the photos to the owner? Thank you in advance.

Photo 5 and 6 are the best, I know a thing or two about taking pictures of cats. Usually you want to catch them in action doing something unique or artistic, or they sometimes pose for the camera. It just takes time, cat's do what they want and trying to get them to do something ends up making your shots look like a deer in the headlight. We've all heard the expression, it's like herding cats.

If I had to choose a cat, which is why we avoid shelters, I'd take the top one, just because it could survive a January in the rockies.

Thank you very much for your opinions. I know as much about cats as my cat Ferynand taught me. And I know that it is very difficult to photograph them because you can't arrange them in your own way, they do whatever they want.

Like you I love capturing landscapes and scenery when we explore nature. For me it's more of something to do and appreciate while we look for elusive wildlife to take photos of.

Photographing landscapes is very relaxing, being in contact with nature gives you a lot of energy. Canada has many places to photograph, so you have something to do. And on gloomy days, there are cats.

Very nice cats and you did a very good job. greetings :)

Thank you

I think you cat shots turned out great. I'm sure the owner could use them to help find homes for the cats. I think the individual shots are the best for that purpose. Although the shelter could also use the other shots to raise money, it looks like a well run, clean place for the cats.

Thank you very much for your opinion. The shelter is great, they have great care there and the owner loves animals, people like her want to help, so I thought about the photos.

I think the owner would love the photos!!

These look great and I don't have any tips because everyone has their own style, but I'll share some of the things I nerd out on with animal photography:
I love making their eyes super sparkly and detailed.
Textures, like for fur and feathers, are fun to work with.
Light! Something you are obviously super familiar working with in your stellar landscape shots.

This photo made me laugh out loud:

Pretty sure that's the feline version of Peter Griffin from Family Guy.
