As I promised in my previous post, this time I will share my work with one of my new models, Nia. This was our first meeting—I had never met her before and only knew her through social media. Interestingly, Nia had seen us during a photoshoot before. If I’m not mistaken, it was when I was doing a session with Andien, and I’ve already shared that photoshoot here as well.
Nia has a great figure; she’s tall and has a beautiful face. Since this was her first time in front of the camera, she seemed a bit shy at first. However, as the session went on, she became more comfortable and started to pose confidently.
The two photos above show her while she was still feeling a bit shy. I kept trying to ease the atmosphere so Nia would feel more comfortable in front of the camera. I really liked her look; even though she was wearing a simple outfit, I felt it suited her character perfectly. Without even realizing it, her pants and top were in matching tones, which made her even more pleasant to the eye.
In addition, I really loved her expression when she started laughing. Of course, this was thanks to my silly jokes that made her laugh. Even though she said she doesn’t like photos of herself laughing because she thinks her face looks odd when she does, I actually find her even more beautiful with her sweet smile and laughter.
I think her sweet smile could easily captivate anyone. Unfortunately, she already has a partner, so I couldn’t use my charm on her. Haha, just kidding. Of course, as a photographer, we must remain professional no matter how beautiful our model is.
The location where I did this photoshoot turned out to have a unique setting. In the front (as you can see in the photos above), the backdrop features a building, but as you walk further behind it, you’ll find a dense grassy field, which I found quite fascinating. So, I took the initiative to direct Nia to stand in the middle of the field to capture some photos there.
Actually, this photoshoot took place in a residential area, and it just so happens that the owner of the place is an acquaintance of mine. I was fortunate to discover that grassy field. On top of that, the soft glow of the late afternoon sun perfectly complemented the shoot, allowing me to capture some really great photos.
When I look at Nia’s photos in the grassy field, it feels like I’m not even in my own city. Honestly, my city is usually very hot, making it rare to get such soft sunlight, especially during a photoshoot in an open field with no shade. It’s typically challenging to achieve results like this. So, it was truly a stroke of luck that everything aligned perfectly during this session.
It seems that I’ll be inviting Nia for another photoshoot in the future, this time with a more conceptualized outfit. Whether the session will take place in a studio or outdoors will depend on our discussions later. For now, I need to coordinate both our schedules to make sure the next session goes smoothly.
I hope you all enjoyed my photos this time, especially the ones in the grassy field. Honestly, it’s quite rare to achieve results like that. Thank you to everyone who stopped by my post. Stay tuned for my next one, as I’ve recently done a new photoshoot for my portfolio with Keny.
Warm regards from me.
