After a long day tramping the streets and backroads of Yerevan, the pedometer thingy said, I had covered a distance of just over 17 miles, if these things can be trusted to be accurate of course. Who knows.
So, this evening is just a gentle stroll to soak up the city as the sun falls beyond the horizon. I actually know where I am going and what I am going to do!

Then what can the lined face of this old lady tell us? The hardships of communism, when everyone was equal. but some were more equal than others? Persecution and paranoia under Uncle Joe, who himself was a Georgian. Still eking out a meagre living from selling bits and pieces on a street corner.
Jesus no! not there, a fate worse than death watching individuals dress up and pretend to be someone else, is not for me. The Moscow Cinema, built in 1936 is home to various auditorium for film, theatre, ballet, musicalzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
But it is on a nice square, the Charles Aznavour Square, apparently he is not French he is half Armenian. He died in the bath aged 94years.
A good place to sit and tarry for awhile.

From May to September, every night twixt 8 and 10pm, anyone in the vicinity of Republic Square are delightfully entertained for free, with a pretty impressive lights, water and music (I couldn't hear it) show.

The singing fountains, as they are known, were the first to be built in the former USSR, and have been in operation since the mid 60's. With the breakup of the USSR the fountains fell into a redundant state, until they were renovated and updated in 2007.
I left before the end, I had seen and enjoyed the evening, The locals and probably a horde of tourists continued to soak it up. it had been a long, a very long day. I also needed more beer.
These shots were, taken on the Nikon Z6(2). It is recommended as being good for its low light capabilities. I am more than satisfied with its performance. What do you think snappers?
