Dogs, Flowers, and the Riverside Symphony

So nowadays leopards are roaming freely in Dehradun. Just yesterday a small child was injured by a leopard. So when I went to visit Sahastradhara yesterday, I saw fear in the eyes of all the dogs. I found this red dog when I was going to find a hidden pond and this red dog accompanied me till the end of my journey.

Yesterday there were clouds so it was a bit cold. I could feel the cool breeze on my face. You can see Seri village behind the pink flower. Yehgaon is about 2 km from the main road. I move ahead after loving some flowers blooming around the village.

It probably takes me an hour on foot to reach the pond. This is Sahastradhara river where water is very less due to winter. Let me tell you that in summer tourists come here to have picnics and swim in the pond built here. Actually, I was also planning to swim but in view of the cold, I canceled the swim. The sky here is covered with Buddhist prayer flags and looks as colorful and beautiful as a rainbow.

When I walk ahead, two more dogs join me. A little fear and playfulness is visible in their eyes. Both of them roam along the river bank with me and have a lot of fun. We cross the pond on the river and have a great time with the dogs.

When I go a little further and start coming back, I see two more dogs. Both of them live in a village located here, but as soon as they see me and seeing that there are two more dogs with me, both of them come running with me, due to which my two old friends go back. Meaning the fight was saved.

It is getting evening and the sunset in the sky is not as rosy as it usually is every day. Today I am able to see the setting sun on the Sahastradhara river. Sitting here on the river bank, I drink hot tea and set out to return home. This last visible idol is of Dronacharya, this idol has been installed in front of the Shiva temple. Guru Dronacharya was the guru of Pandavas and he had educated Pandavas in every way.
