Perhaps 3:00 PM is not the best hour to take landscape photos 5 KM away from the town's outskirts, but that day I started taking photos at noon in the streets and my “child soul” made me head southeast and wanted to go into the solitude of the rural roads surrounded by pastures and plantations... The arrival of the north winds and the decrease in rainfall, have given us beautiful blue skies and some white clouds like cotton floating on the horizon... The mountains, with a green color that begins to be toned with yellows and ochers typical of the dry season, surround the valley, towering and full of lights and shadows that betray its relief from afar... I think then that following my instincts was a good idea and that is how I ended up taking pictures in the middle of the silence of these places that bring me a thousand memories of past times...

I used to come here often as a child... Sometimes I would come on foot and sometimes riding my old bike without brakes which I repaired myself with more inventiveness than budget. It was the early 80's and we didn't have cell phones, so my parents didn't even know where I was or what I was doing, but in those days that was normal I guess... My schoolmates would sometimes venture out with me on these long rides and we would have hours of fun doing anything from racing bikes to trying to ride horses without the owners' permission... It was what I now call “The Montalban of yesteryear”...

About 45 years have passed since I have narrated in this publication. But today I still come here from time to time, although it is usually something I do in the mornings and I confess that I do not remember when was the last time before this, that I walked these paths in the middle of the afternoon... But the effect is the same, I still get ecstatic looking at the landscape, listening to the whisper of the wind, breathing the air, looking at imaginary beings and building stories around these paths sometimes surrounded by huge groves...
