There are many things about Mount Cook hike that make it special, spectator, and very enjoyable to embark on.
The views from kilometers away as we drove towards the Mount Cook, tourists taking photos of the mountain as it stands out from kilometers away to starting the walk itself.
Almost every step urged me to take photos and videos, seeing tourists from different parts of the world 🌎 for Mt Cook hike are just one of the many reasons why this ranks up the as the most special hike I have done. Even kids join in on the hike, old and young!
So when I didn't reach the Hooker Lake 30th November 2024, I went back with my friend on the 6th of January to complete the hike to Hooker Lake.
Reaching the Hooker Lake was a rewarding experience and very much worth the walk.
The turquoise-grey color of the lake is because of the glacier eroded sediment that is suspended in the water.
I dipped my hands in the water it was as cold as ice 🧊. Some of the glaciers floating on the lake are amazing to me as it was my first time experiencing such. I took more close-up shots 📷 which I will share next.
My friend and I had our lunch, which we took along with us at Hooker Lake, we rested and enjoyed the views before making our return walk.
Will you go on Mount Cook hike again in the future? The answer is an absolute yes. Maybe a winter hike experience there will offer another beauty 😍
