It was such an amazing day that we couldn’t resist heading out to explore the town. On our way, we were also planning to meet some people who had invited us over.
But first, we needed to take the dinghy to shore before hopping into the car.
What made this yacht club particularly interesting was that it had recently celebrated its 100th anniversary.
Its amazing to see these yacht clubs, especially when they’ve lasted so long and stayed in great condition. This one, in particular, feels so luxurious and full of charm. It’s been a long time since we’ve come across a club as beautiful and well-kept as this—it was like stepping back into a grander time.
Finally, we got to our friend’s house, where she gave us a warm welcome and showed us some incredible artifacts from her collection. Each one was more impressive than the last, and I was blown away by their history and beauty. Luckily, I had my camera with me and was able to take some great photos to remember the moment.
She had discovered this fascinating broken tip of a spear on a beach, and don’t let its appearance fool you—it’s not made out of wood. Amazingly, it’s crafted from whale bone, an incredible material steeped in history and tradition. Even more astonishing is its age—this remarkable artifact dates back over 5,000 years, a relic from a time long past.
This incredible piece is a tobacco pouch, remarkably crafted from a whale tooth. It was handmade by one of the whalers centuries ago, and the craftsmanship is absolutely breathtaking. The carvings etched into the surface are nothing short of magnificent, each detail telling its own story. It’s amazing to think about the skill and care that went into creating something so functional yet so beautiful. Let me know what you think about such a unique and historic artifact?
