I will follow the time stamps on them. So it looks like you are experiencing my #adventures on this #walk, to šš»šš»šš» #discover everything what I saw, like the little #details seen through my eyes.
Location of the BEEHIVE DOOCOT we find on the following screenshot with a yellow star āļø on google maps:
ā¦above the Doocot we see the fields and Preston Mill where we start our walk.
This Wikipedia page has the following and much more information for you at Beehive Doocot or Dovecote from the Phantassie farm.
Phantassie Doocot is a "beehive" doocot, or dovecote, and is a National Trust for Scotland property, along with the nearby Preston Mill. It was built in the 16th century, and has an unusual parapet in the shape of a horseshoe. Behind the 4 feet (1.2 m) thick walls, there are 544 nest boxes which, in years gone by, would have given good shelter to the birds. source

Remember the sign next to the parking lotā¦ last week. I liked the illustration so I attach another photo that I captured. It shows a part of the walk today. From the Mill past the Doocot further back to town.
Letās start our walk today š
We walk over this white bridge over the river Tyne.
Our view to one sideā¦
ā¦and the other side of the bridge š
It is a long path between #fields. It is late in the day now 18:22h. Fog in the distanceā¦
Looking towards the village we see the church's tower. It is my favourite capture today.
We see the Beehive Doocot appearing. Such an interesting structure š¤š¦
Getting closer byā¦ I have never seen one, so it is cool to discover it as we get closer š Have you ever seen a Doocot?
From the 16th Century š³ rememberā¦
It looks still in a great state. The walls are truly thickā¦ so I can imagine why.
Letās quickly check out this sign next to it. Have a read:
ā¦did you see the birds paintings on the wooden post too?
Looking at the top where the birds enter. It is a well protected shelter for sure.
Zooming in for you at the top of the Doocot.
We walk furtherā¦ along the paths towards the village.
I see this little alley.
At the end is a wooden gateā¦ we decide not to check it out.
A while further we see farm buildings. Bricked up windows and mostly #abandoned.
I love #exploring abandoned buildings, but this time we only look at the outside š
Rusty barrelsā¦ cool š
More details along the stone walls.
Walking around the corner we see these farm buildings are largeā¦.
It would be great to check them out better. Just not now hahaha
The right sideā¦ one could make a cute house š” out of that part.
The left side. I think this is in use.
I zoom in on the #weathervane š (yes, I have a spot on my lens when I zoom in this farā¦ gggrrrrr I canāt remove it)
Walking further around the corner, we are almost back at the main roads into the village. We will finish here our photo walk today.
As an extra bonusā¦ on the wall next to us, we find this sign šŖ§ just before we leave this area to walk into the village.
Do have a readā¦ it is very interesting. It tells a bit about the #history from this #village. That it was / is an #artistās paradise and about the waterways. It also shows interesting other locations to visit in this area. š
ā¦and here I say thatās all for todayās post my friends.
Join me next time for more #updates, #adventures, #stories and #photographs ššš»
