Exploring northern SWEDEN brought me to some exciting remote places. On a late evenings WALK in the #FORESTS there, I discovered this RIVER. ONCE SMALL, but with the snow melting in the NORTH the water RISES and rises…. Until it breaks the river banks. 🌊🌊
Come and #walk with me to discover this AREA, the RIVER and all the details I saw last year. It was 15 MAY 2024 (at 18:30h in the evening) and yes 😳 we still FOUND snow on the ground 😋❄️
This #river and its small #bridge was in the middle of nowhere…. Close to Gårdhögen #naturereserve and the Bubergssjön /lake in #SWEDEN 🇸🇪

I will follow the time stamps on them. So it looks like you are experiencing my #adventures on this #walk to 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 #discover everything what I saw, like the little #details seen through my eyes.
We parked our car on a soft gravel road (it was frozen and covered with snow for 7 months… so the gravel is very soft and the car sinks in) as far as we safely could get without damaging the road. After we get out we take in the views.
Farmed trees 🌲 on one side of us…
Newly planted trees on the other side and mountains in the distance. The blue sky is very welcome this day. It is nice and warm… not too warm 😋 it already stays light for a long time.
The area we came from…
We start walking along the path and see still snow ❄️ around us this late in the year.
It is beautiful to see… soon all will be gone.
The path we just walked, we look back at it. Just us… no sounds… no nothing. JUST NATURE 🌲🌲
We walk further and see a hunters hut.
A very very large rock 🪨 that sticks out now with the snow surrounded it. It was covered with meters of snow for a long time. It must be happy now it can see the sky again hahaha 🤣
Our gravel path changes into a sandy forest path as we get deeper into the nature reserve and we see soon old Forest growth.
After a while we see the path leads down… let’s go and check out where it goes to. 😎
The forest is getting thicker around us. Beautiful, soon the broad leaf trees will get their leaves 🍃 again.
The snow is just gone and little creatures coming out of their homes…
Let me show you these tiny little forest ants 🐜 🐜🐜🐜 🐜 now they can go out and about again 😊
After we walk further we hear the sound of water… we walk towards it and see in the distance a river.
The sound is so loud and the water wild.
Getting closer we see how fast the water flows. It has all the extra water going through it now the meters of snow is melting in the north of Sweden 🇸🇪
It is very full and the river banks are about to break. It will #flood the area around it.
A little bridge made out of a few logs 🪵 crosses it. I get onto it and see the water flow beneath me.
Sooooo FAST and loud. It makes me dizzy hahaha 🤣 staring straight down. I hold onto the little bench.
As you can see the water is very dark.
You can’t really get a feel for the wild river below us so I took 2 videos for you 😁 to get the same views and feeling as me.
I get off the bridge and capture the river to the right.
The area of the bridge. On the left next to me is already a lot of water over the edge…

This river is so wild now… I do like the little bench they build on top of the bridge. A beautiful spot to watch the river and surroundings. Maybe even #fish 🎣
We walk further and discover some vegetation next to our sandy forest path. All is Very wet…
We walk back up the hill. Towards the area we parked our car.
Taking in more details on the way back 🥰 as you know I love details.
These red mosses are beautiful.
A little spruce tree that has seeded itself is on the path we walk. Cute… it is surrounded by such a diversity of other plants. 🌱
The first flower of the year 🥰 that made me happy to see… a true sign winter was gone now.
We walk further and look back to where we came from. Yes… we had to walk through some snow ❄️
We had so much fun… back at the car we say bye bye 👋🏻 it is late now in the evening just after 20:05h so time to head home now.
