Hello Hiveans... How are you today? Of course in good condition and healthy.
On this occasion, I would like to share several things related to the state of the coast around our area, of course...
Today's activity is still in the nuances of the coast, why because I saw the air was very bright and beautiful, so I was moved to take photos of some coastal objects seen in this area.
Our focus today, is the object or tool of fishermen who are the main source in finding fish to support their families. One of the objects that are often needed by these traditional fishermen or those who still rely on trawlers, still need traditional wooden boats which are often the main source of fishing.
Even though they have entered advanced technology, coastal fishing communities often and always rely on simple tools to find fish. This goal, has a specific purpose and is the main reason for choosing the object why?
Because by still relying on this simple tool, the entire habitat or marine biodata is still saved, meaning that their presence does not disturb the habitat on the seabed.
This can be seen from the characteristics of their equipment in achieving a goal in obtaining fish.
Wooden boats typical of the coastal areas of Aceh are very simple, do not rely on machines but still rely on wind power and human manual power. Only armed with oars made of wood as a manual tool in running the boat. If you see a strong wind, then a sail made of cloth is used, but this tool is not always used only in times of urgency.
While the fishing gear in the form of :
- The net made of white thread is then assembled into a net of a certain size, and please note that this is not a non-shrimp trawl that is not environmentally friendly, this net is a substitute for fish trawls.
- Still using the traditional leaning natural fishing line, which is capable of catching large fish that play in the loose fishermen's clumps
- The operating distance is about 1000 meters from the beach, why because in this coastal area the fish are still playing on the beach with a distance of 1000 meters.
These traditional fishermen also often place traditional FADs in certain locations that are still within their size range or area of operation.
Small and medium fish such as :
- Medium red snapper
- Oily groupers and other species also like FADs located on the seabed
- and, several other medium fish, which are often of interest to the people of the city of Lhokseumawe.
I myself have often seen their catch in the form of the fish mentioned above, often found using this simple tool, in a day these traditional fishermen are able to produce 100 kg or more, this is found based on conditions in a location.
When I was at the beach today, they were traditional fishermen, had just returned from or finished their operations, and this situation was known, by seeing their traditional wooden boats already on the mainland with a distance of about 5 meters from the waves.
The boats after they are finished operating are not placed in the sea, but are towed ashore or rather on the beach, with the aim of protecting the boat's subordinates from attacks by sea lice which can tear and bite the boat's wood if they linger in a foamy place. In that foamy water coming from the influence of waves, or near breakwaters, have ocean pests or wood-eating fleas.
You can see, some of the state of the traditional fishing boats that have just been completed from the sea, and the boats, as seen below.
Information about the wooden boat, is still very little explained, even though in general there is still a lot to be told in navigating the high seas, without using sophisticated equipment suitable for fishing boats that have been successful in their fields.
Of course, this purpose will be explained again in the next meeting. Thank you for reading this simple blog.
