At the back of our house, you can find a small river where water always flows even in the hottest season like summer. We don’t live in the city where bigger buildings and establishments are around. Yes, nature is what surrounds us, trees, grasses, plants and insects. That’s why when I was on my free time because there were no customers at that time. I enjoyed strolling in the back while carrying my nikon dslr on my shoulder.

I always wanted to find something to photograph, not just a subject but also the landscape when I’d be outside. However, that time I paused, I stopped and slowly walked not to create a sound. I noticed a Dragonfly who was resting in the small branch of a grass in an above the river. A giant man like me might terrify them just by the sound of a single step. We are the same, living in the big world but for him, maybe I was bigger.

I slowly lifted my camera to place in my sight and tried to find a beautiful angle. The shutter created a sound but not too loud, but when I was not satisfied I took two steps to be nearer. My lens was only 75 - 300 mm, so if I wanted a closer and bigger subject to capture even if they're small. I thought I should be nearer but yeah, he noticed me and flew away. I was not content with my shots so I was kind of disappointed. Still, I was confident that I could take more shots. I waited while placing my camera in my face already. I did that to make sure that I could not create a move that would make them afraid.
I waited, waited and let the calmness of the surroundings go back. The soothing feeling of the river almost carried me from intention. The sun was so high and the surroundings were so clear. I could feel the heat of the sun burning my face. “I need to wait”, I told myself because I continued hoping that I could capture more with this dragonfly.

I didn’t notice that there was already a dragonfly resting in the very green leaves of the grass. I was a little bit farther so the photo was not that vivid and bigger.

I tried my best not to create a single sound when I was holding my every when I took a step. I looked like a crazy one but I was just careful not to disturb the one who was resting. Then, I pressed the shutter speed and then boom. I was satisfied and immediately left after.
