Some dish soap, a little bit of vegetable oil, a few drops of glycerin, and water was all I needed to get some really interesting shots for my macro photography.

The randomness of the colors and patterns really popped against the black background.

One of the exciting parts is that you never know what you are going to get.

I imagine every bubble as if it were its own tiny little planet out in the void of space.

For this setup, I had my strobe with a large softbox overhead. I shot everything handheld because of the randomness of the bubbles and how quickly I would have to adjust. If I were to revisit this, I would get the softbox closer and rig it better to be directly overhead. this would eliminate some of the reflections of the light in the bubbles. I am using my typical Nikon D7200 and Tamron 90mm macro.

These turned out really cool. I love bubbles and now even moreso! Keep up the great work.

Thank you, This was a great experiment. I learned a lot about lighting. I can't wait to take on another project.

It looked like a fun experiment with great success! =)
