One of my favorite resources for learning PhotoShop is Phlearn. So when they were having a Halloween composite contest I had a great idea for an image.
I am by no means an expert at photoshop. Most of the time I stick to small retouching and for the most part, stay away from composites. But it is good to get outside your comfort zone and try new things, that is how you learn after all.
So here was the Background for the photo. It was midday with very harsh sunlight.
Every image needs a subject so what is more fitting than a bride and groom zombie from a local Oktoberfest parade. Again harsh midday sunlight.
The sky in the original background was just not going to do, so of course, it needed to be replaced.
There wasn't much detail in the moon of my replacement sky so again, that had to go as well.
At the end of the day, I was proud of the way this image turned out. It was a lot of work, but also a ton of fun to do. I did not end up winning the contest or even getting an honorable mention, but I learned a bunch of new technics and had the tools to improve other images in the future. Thank you for checking out my post.
