And even the moon appeared on the stage.
So, you will see morning, afternoon, sunset and a moon view in here.
We needed to relax a bit on the weekend, as the first two days of our week were filled by traveling to and from the town of Paarl, and the rest of the week was filled by charity work and meetings. When I saw the unusual shapes of the clouds driven by a strong wind, we went to get some pictures at a wine farm that has a clear view of the mountain range. And let me tell you that it was a good decision as you will see below. We have some beautiful wine estates in the area, and our favorites are the Lourensford and Vergelegen wine estates as they care for nature, and I get many bird shots on them. I am not saying that only these two wine estates care for nature, as all of the other ones also do, but these two are the closest to us and that is why we often visit there.
This below was the view when we arrived back home.
I waited outside in the front garden, as I wanted to see what the sunset would do with the clouds. It was a slow and colorful conversion of the clouds by the setting of the sun, and I was not disappointed, as in my mind, the photos looked great.
This was the last color show, as twilight arrived to fade the clouds.
And finally, at dark, the moon decided to also enter the show.
The weather is weird lately, as we get many bleak skies on a day and then the other days are filled with color and deep blue skies, depending on the temperatures of course, as we are slowly being dragged into the Winter rainy season. Low 20 degrees Celsius on most days and the cool is preparing us for the cold and freezing days that we will soon have to endure. But then again, we read of terrible weather incidents all over the world and just recently hundreds of people were killed in a landslide in New Guinea. Tornados also flare up and create much damage in other areas. And so, floods and volcanoes have also joined the fray.
We are lucky that we don't have tornadoes or volcanoes here, but we also have some severe incidents mostly by fire and floods here in the Cape of Storms. At present, they are widening the Lourensford river to give the water a better run from the mountains to the sea in order to prevent it flooding again in the lower areas of the town. Big machines are being used for this, and bigger trucks cart the sand and stones away. I took some pictures of the river widening action that I will show you in another post. For now, I hope that you have enjoyed the pictures and the story.
