A tourist adventure safari, with a difference.

Now what do you think that this is below?

Their motto is; The Most fun that you can have side by side.

A small touring bus dropped some passengers on the farm and then after a short while the bikes with the sidecars arrived. So, I was up in a flash to go and have a closer inspection of the bikes, and as you can see, the bikes were restored to their full glory. Double-saddled Harley Davidson work horses. I have never lost my love of bikes, even though an accident on one almost cost me my life. But that's another story.

Late Edit: The bikes are in fact two modern Ural sidecars, and a thank you to @hornet-on-tour for the correction.

I knew that something was up and fortunately I met the owner of the bikes, as he was one of the drivers. We couldn't chat for long, as they were busy, but he gave me his contact details, and also invited me to come and visit him, as then he would show me all of the other bikes that they use for the tours. He even offered me a free spin when I visit, and I am already looking so forward to drive one of those bikes.
So, first I will show you the bikes, and then why they were here.

The owner and another driver were doing final checks on the bikes, to make sure that they were ready. You can see on the white board behind the bikes, that there are also many other activities on the wine estate and they are brimful with visitors throughout the year.

Below, just some finer details of the bikes.

This "Lady Luck" print was on the lid of the gas tank.

And the other bike had this print on its gas tank.

My wife liked the names of the bikes, and she told me that it had something to do with a lion king.

You can see how comfortable the seating in the side car is.

Right, finally we get to the interesting reason for the bikes being here. The two drivers were loading the tourists that embarked from the small bus, in order to take them on a tour on the back roads of the wine estate. It is a very big wine estate and 1,2 or 3 hour trips are offered.

In the lead when they left was that green safari truck at the front with the other passengers.

As you can see, only 4 passengers were brave enough to give the bikes a try, and I am sure that they are going to have much fun.

The reason for our regular visits to the wine estate these last days, is that I am waiting for the twins to come out of their nest. Oh, maybe I didn't tell you about the twins, and they are two Malachite sunbird babies.

Here below is a look at them, and soon they will come out of the nest.

Amazing how things can seem to fall into one's lap. Imagine this, we went to the farm for me to check if the sunbird babies were still safe, as we had some very strong gusts of wind during the night, and then, out of nowhere the bikes arrived. If you were to ask me yesterday if I expected the bikes today, then I wouldn't have known what you were talking about. But yes, I love surprises, and I also love to share them on my blog, as it avoids the boredom of posting the same things over and over every day. Not that I do, as I like variety, and to keep things interesting. We all have only one life to live, and now in my golden years, I live every day to the full.
Such is life.

So, if you are thinking of traveling to the western cape province, or to the famous Cape Town city in South Africa. Put this safe LINK on your bucket list.

It will tell you all about the sidecar tours and also the prices of the tours. They are based in the ABRU museum on the Lourensford Wine Estate, that you can also see HERE

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Wow, what an interesting bike. Those who ride are sure to be very happy and can also clearly enjoy the beauty of the garden.

Yeah, and I will soon take a drive with one of them. !LOL

If I've understood correctly, you recognized the two bikes as Harley Davidson. But I have to contradict you. Harley Davidson only builds V2 engines, but these motorcycles have boxer engines. As far as I know only 2 brands build such engines BMW and Ural. What you have photographed are 2 modern Ural sidecars. But how Ural (Russia) got the BMW (Germany) boxer engines is also a very exciting story.

Thank you for the correction, and I only assumed that they were Harleys. No time to concentrate on the engines, but I should have taken a photo of it.
The story about how Russia got the German boxer engines, sounds very interesting. !LOL
