My wife suggested that we visit the Raithby village close to us, as we are searching for a cottage in the countryside.
She was on Google and called to show me that there is also a Copper Kettle Restaurant in the village.
Some of you might remember that I posted a Copper Kettle Restaurant, near Hopefield town, some months ago. Well, here's another one close to us in the Raithby village. So come join us and let's go and see what the Raithby Copper Kettle looks like.
This above was the approach road to the restaurant, and it's about 20 kilometers away from our place.
The restaurant was surrounded by trees, and it looked very interesting.
So, madam found a table outside and ordered some coffee.
I of course took a walk with my camera to investigate, and this was a counter at the entrance.
There was the famous Copper Kettle sign on a wall above a fireplace.
This above is a sample of the indoor dining place, and they had two big dining areas.
Prices were way out of our league, but we could afford the coffee - as usual.
Finally, this was one of the views from the grounds of the restaurant.
The owner came to introduce himself to us, and he emigrated from the UK to come and buy the restaurant. He said that he settled down and married a nice Karoo meisie (girl) and that he is very happy to be here. Then he related something very funny. The narrative is that a client accused him of doing false advertising, as she booked a lunch at his restaurant, and when they arrived it was nothing like the restaurant on his website. She even threatened to sue him, as when they arrived, there was no booking for them, and no mountain views.
Turns out that she booked at his restaurant and then they traveled to the restaurant with the same Copper Kettle name at Hopefield. Us, being at both restaurants now, can tell you that they are totally different. The Hopefield one has wide open yellow canola lands and the Raithby one has mountain views. We had to laugh when he told us the story, as one can only imagine how angry the lady was. All due to her own mistake for Googling the directions to the wrong restaurant Lol.
As a kind gesture the owner at Raithby invited them for a free lunch at the correct restaurant.
Now if you were to visit the Copper Kettle Restaurant, please ensure that you book at the correct one.

I took a fair number of photos of the Raithby village that I will show you in some other posts.
Hope that you enjoyed the pictures and the story.
