Take a walk with me in the sky.

A break in the afternoon rain, and I was outside in a flash.
079.jpg

As I stepped outside, I saw that 6 layered cloud to share with you.

Everyone is complaining about the weather lately, and not only here, as it has gone haywire across the world. We have also had it very wet here now for a couple of weeks, and the weather guy reckons that it will last for a while longer. But never mind, as I will just wait for the sunbreaks to get out there to take photos. We are deep into winter now, and although it is cold here overnight, there are other parts of the country that are at -9C below freezing point. The province was declared as a disaster due to all of the damages, and we heard today that now there are also some fires around.
Such is life here now.

This photo below is to show you what our early morning looked like. We had to pop out in the rain to get some things at a shop, and we were anchored inside our house for most of the day.

That guy at the right of the picture whispered, Come Zac, I will show you some lovely views

Magic indeed as the sun was trapped between two converging clouds.

And then my spirit leaped, as I saw my old friend, the sun.
162.JPG

But even better, as the moon also came to greet me at the same time.

Look, that white cloud below had an umbrella :)

And then it was me and the sun, as it has been scarce these days.

The wind was driving the clouds along at a fair lick, and it really made for some lovely battles between the sun and the clouds.

Oh yes, I took a ton of photos to stock up for the days that we cannot get out because of the storms. So, gradually they will be shared with you, and I also have some great shots taken from our study window about the visitors to our front garden. In the meantime, the chairlady of our Papillon board is down with pneumonia, and thankfully she is making slow progress to recover. Fortunately, we had those 5-year chest protective jabs at the chemist, and so we are protected against any lung infections. One can never be too careful about the whims of the weather here, as the change is instantaneous and I also jump around between hot, cold, wet and dry on many days. This is due to the strong winds that continue to change direction in a whisker.
Okay, that's all for today.

I hope that you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Clouds at war above clashing of the giants, you sure have had enough rain in the Cape with more cold fronts approaching. From a city without water a couple of years ago, now need a canoe to get anywhere....

No matter the weather, stand together and smile is the best we can do, sadly many lost livestock and lives here in our province with wind driven fires raging through.

Thoughts are with everyone battling to make light of a tough struggle!

The sudden changes are amazing, and in my long years on this earth, I have never seen this before. But it may be because we live in a new province that is more exposed to the tantrics of the Atlantic Ocean.
We are almost through a very torrid time of storm after storm for weeks on end.

Yeah, I read about 6 volunteer fire fighters being killed by the flames. A terrible situation, as if it's not the water, then it's the flames that torture the KZN Province.

Our prayers are with you guys.

Coastal storms are horrific, experiencing cross winds where you live plays a big part with Indian and Atlantic meeting. Rugged wild waters always when they get up and going.

Wild fires now in regions heavily populated that were once farmlands, regular controlled burning which I am not sure whether this takes place currently.

Something that one can never get absolutely used to, as too many new acts of nature that scrambles the mind. Even experienced local fishermen frequently get into trouble on the boats, and one would expect them to know the sea, as they have been fishing here for their whole lives.

Some say that where people are present that there will be fires. Frequent accidents, such as not drowsing a braai fire is a sure way for a strong wind to pick up the sparks. Then of course, we also have arson and a host of other reasons. I know that every year they do the control burns here, but the problem is that when a fire starts, then the wind can carry the hot sparks for miles.
Such is life.

Control burning has always been the way, now every valley and hill has inhabitants living on the property.

Fires have been a problem along the coastline here with negligence or arson who knows. Two last night alone in this small area one in natural bush on the beach (could be hobo's living in there), a few fires started surrounding one of our primary schools.

Hope GNU works now it's slowly being voted in and settling somewhat.

Yep, the occupying of hills brings with it accidents when a strong wind is up, and often many people and animals die in the flames.

Sad to hear this, and once again the human element is solely responsible. Starting of fires in public spaces to keep warm, or for any other reason should be banned. Braais are also very risky when a wind is up, and so many don't make sure that the fire is out after they are done. And then of course there are willful fires by some that have grievances.

We heard the president say tonight that a priority will be jobs and resurrecting the economy. But there are also other priorities such as raising the trains from the dead, and a million others.

Gravy train ran out of track, everything has been stolen...

I think we all stand together in saying let's see change happen, talk if cheap!

We continue to pray for things to improve, and now with so many parties assembled it seems that we stand a chance.

The tardiness of the past needs to be totally wiped out, and I think that the new government will go out of their way to convince the people that they at last mean business. So let's wait and see.

So beautiful

Thank you!

Its been a good day for you with those lovely clouds above. That was a beautiful cloud formations you witness. When I was a child, I am fond of observing cloud formations up until now. Thanks for these lovely photos.

Thank you, and yeah, I use every opportunity to get out when the rain stops. I also love the clouds, and often see some figures in the cloud patterns.
My pleasure to share.

Your shots are cool, friend.

Thank you!

You're welcome.

These photos of the battles in the sky are stunning. The first one of 6 layers... made me think of mountains.

It's a world up there, a weaving that is being completed in our minds as well. What a beautiful publication. Battles above and battles below: life.

Thank you and yes, that photo does indeed remind one of mountain layers.

Many similarities between the skies and our lives, and I like the word "weaving", as that is what we all do every day, weaving the strands of our lives.
Glad that you appreciated the post and a world of battles indeed.
