I visited an art gallery last week for an Art exhibition. The title of the Exhibition was" world art fair" .It was a very fun event to go for. I left to the venue by 10am that morning. I and my friend went to venue. Arriving at the event they offered us refreshments. I was astounded looking at the beautiful artworks.
I meet one of the artist displaying his work at the exhibition, we had a long chat , I really learnt alot just talking to him.
I took a few pictures with some Artists. I also took some pictures with some friends.
The art works in the exhibition were made with different mediums.
My best art work is the one with a green background , the Title of the work is "Dear mama " . It was painted by Dumbor Debeeh. The painting shows a girl with sunflowers on her head laying her head on a table , with flower vase with rose flowers beside her. The girl was drawn with a Ball point pen , then oil paint was used to paint the background . At the background of the girl is a framed picture of a mother holding her child. The picture in the background is more like memories in the head of the lady about the moments she shared with her mom.
The letter in this picture is also Titled "Dear Mama"....
"How did you find the energy, mama to do all the things you did ,to be a teacher, nurse and a counselor to me, when I was a kid.
How did you do it all. Mama to be a chauffeur, cook and friend. Yet find time to be a playmate , I just can't comprehend.
How did you find the energy mama, to endure the grievance of men and the society. You told me i will get flowers from the man who loves me best ,so much flowers now, I can't see the love still.
How did you get yours, Mama. "
The letter written by the girl to her mum is really touching. It relates to how patient young ladies wait to find there one true love. Most times it's hard to find the right person.
This is actually the best art Exhibition I have gone to in Nigeria.
