Las Cienegas Sunrise

Mesquite tree

Sunrise in Las Ciengas National Conservation Area near Sonoita, Arizona.

Mountains

Specifically Cieneguita Campground. Strictly rustic camping, no amenities, dirt road to 8 or 9 spots. Free range cattle. I read some reviews complaining about the cattle but they were not around the campground when we were there. We did see some cows and calves up nearer to the old ranch buildings.

Colors

Views of Apache Peak in the distance. Apache Peak is the highest peak in the Whetstone Mountians in Cochise County, Arizona.

More Mesquite

Lots of movies were filmed on the Empire Ranch list of movies It is an iconic desert landscape that Hollywood loved for old Westerns.

Beautiful photos... it's always cool to wake up in the morning and see the sky like this as you leave your tent.
Enjoy your day

Thanks. It was an awesome morning. I actually woke up early and watched the stars fade as the horizon gradually lit up. 😍

Beautiful photos! There is so much to explore in AZ.

Thanks. Wisconsin is alot like Vermont and what I like about AZ is its soooo different than our part of the world. Cool to see the different landscapes.

The appearance of the sunrise is really beautiful, a good shot👍

Thanks. The sunrise was spectacular in the high desert 🙂

Awesome shots, this is called living life and witnessing beauty. Nice work.

Thanks. We weren't sure about this trip but are so happy we went

Almost every sunset in AZ is nice and colorful. Did you hear any coyotes while camping? Be sure to visit Kartchner Caverns in the Whetstones. My classmates were Kartchners and they discovered it on their land and they gave us previews of the living cave before it got turned into a state park.

Thats really cool. We didn't make it over the Kartchner 🙁 we definitely heard the coyotes at night 🙂
