Lovely waterfall on Bear Brook in the Green Mountain National Forest near Brandon Gap.
I got out for a #wednesdaywalk hosted by @tattoodjay.,
Lots of lovely trails like this one in my part of Vermont.
Most follow a brook.
Riffles like this are common. Many streams run directly over solid rock like this one.
This year everything is green. Even the rocks lol with the moss.
Many trails are well maintained with nice upgrades like this bridge.
This little orange eft seems to be contemplating a swim. Efts are the terrestrial juvenile stage of salamanders. This little buy will actually turn green when it becomes a (aquatic) adult. So it isn't ready for a swim yet.
Now for the payoff of the hike...
These hidden falls are actually off the trail and require a little rock scrambling but its worth it.
Have a great Wednesday and take some time to get out there for a #wednesdaywalk 👍
