There's a recent post by @devosdevosi with some wonderful photography from a visit he made to Ironbridge. By coincidence we were in the village a few days later and, below, are some of my more basic snaps.
First, a nice daytime snap. If you don't know the history of this bridge, and why it is important, have a wee read about it's history.
The most basic thing to know is this was the first bridge made from iron in the world. Building started in 1779, and it opened for use in 1781
Below was purely meant to be a nightime picture from much the same spot as the one above, but I accidentaly managed to get a picture of comet [Tsuchinshan-ATLAS] as well - if you go up from the bridge centre-point, you can see the 'star with a tail'.(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C/2023_A3_(Tsuchinshan%E2%80%93ATLAS))
Being in a river gorge Ironbridge often has river mists and below is one which persisted in a mid-october morning. The afternoon cleared to some pleasant sunshine.
And the final two go together as they show how swift the river will rise. The final picture was the thursday morning, the one before was the Wednesday evening.
