All in the name
In comments recently I think it may have been with @bozz I mentioned how when walking around the port I am always checking out the names of boats which lead to this post

I always tend to be reading the names of boats, some make me chuckle, others make me wonder the story behind them, or as in the case with this first photo the name has some significance to me.
The Queen of Peace is such a name, because I worked in peacekeeping for thirty years and have many good and bad memories from those times when I saw this boat and got this shot, it came to my mind to do a post when I was focusing on or talking about the names of boats
Now not all boat names bring back memories but this next one the Big Dog, does remind me of a colleague both from my time in the New Zealand Army but he also joined the UN so a friend and colleague I worked with on and off for well over 40 years, now his nickname wasn't the big dog, but often after a few beers in him he would call himself the big dog.

Now this next Boat and its name the Hustler, doesn't bring back any specific memories but over my years and my travels I have met many who are or tried to be Hustlers

and this next boat Fishin Addiction has a name fit for many who like going out fishing whether commercial or private I am sure with many it may be an addiction, I have friends and family who back in NZ go out fishing a lot, one in particular, has a favorite fishing spot, which to get there entails an hour or two drive, a few hour hike to get to his favorite spot, and he often goes and camps out there for a few days, not sure if thats an addiction to fishing or enjoying the peace and quiet away from it all

And as I do in some posts I finish off back where I started with another shot of the Queen of Peace.

I have many shots from the State pier and docks so this may be the first of a few posts focusing on the names of boats
And that’s all folks
