at the port
Good Morning i hope life is treating you well
As I was looking through my folders of photos today I was thinking about, how I said to someone in a comment the other day, who was a bit frustrated that they felt their photos were not that great when comparing with some of the what they call greta photographers they see on social media.
and I said Dont beat yourself up comparing your photos with others whose work you admire, sure use seeingtheir photos as inspiration, but instad compare your photos with say the photos you took a year, or more ago, amd see if you feel your work is improving and think about how you would like to keep improving or even if not improving evolving in your photography style.
Well that may seem a weird intro to this post, but it did lead to this post
Thinking about that I went through some of my port photos from recent visits then looked at photos fromthe port a year ago, well back in 2023 and ended up selecting a few to share for this post.
NOw taking my own advice I thought has my photo work improved over the year, and to be honest I am not so sure it has, its not like I look at these photos and think what was I thinking when I took or edited these.
So then has my photography perhaps evolved over the last year or two, I slipped in or two to give myself a more positive answer, yes I have tried new things such as light painting, and I have at times found myself trying to find different perspectives for photos from what I may have used to, so yes I have evolved to a degree so I am happy with that.
and for some positive reinforcement for myself I looked at my photos from 5 years ago, and I can see a big change and dare I say improvement since then.
And now onto the photos from last year on a visit to the port one morning
Starting with this shot as I was crossing the road from the port to the Historic part of the city I walk I often take but not so often do I stop and take a shot of this view
