Birds
I haven't shared any bird photos for a while, not that I have got any new photos of them, but I dug through my archives of unedited photos and picked a few to edit and share for this post
Starting with a Cat Bird I saw in a walk in Buttonwood Park, I heard it, well a bunch of them before seeing them
they were making some interesting sounds,
Some interesting info I read about cat Bird
Gray Catbirds get their common name from their distinctive mewing call, which can sound like a cat’s meow to some ears, Not that I can say I head cat sounds when I saw them
Gray Catbirds can produce two sounds at the same time thanks to their ability to use each side of their syrinx, or vocal organ, independently. they can use one side or the other or both.
When they sing they can keep going for around 10 Minutes and mimic other birds and even mechanical sounds
The male Gray Catbird uses his loud song to proclaim his territory. He uses a softer version of the song when near the nest or when a bird intrudes on his territory. The female may sing the quiet song back to the male.
