Market Friday

A post for Market Friday hosted by @dswigle, if you haven't followed her yet you should she is one of the kindest and most supportive people here on Hive, a comment from her is like a ray of sunshine on your page.
This is the one tag and challenge that I always make a point of joining, and also look through the posts of others that join the challenge and seeing markets from all around the world.

For this weeks post, I am sharing a few shots taken in the past week, I had a better week and actually got out for a few walks, one being a short visit to the Haskell Gardens here in New Bedford

A little bit about the gardens
The late Allen C. Haskell, a lifelong New Bedford resident and famed horticulturist, assembled these six acres—the site of a traditional New England-style common, beautiful historic gardens, and one of the oldest homes in the city—over more than 30 years. Today, it’s a public park and unlikely botanical respite, blooming in the heart of New Bedford.

Now you may be wondering if it is a public gardens how is this a Market Friday post, well in spring they do sell flowers, and its open to buy them at the moment, so it is indeed a market and a very beautiful one especially at this time of the year, and besides we all know @dswigle Loves gardens and flowers so I am sure she will be fine with this for a market Friday post

Now I am not sure what type of plant or tree this is, to me it looks some sort of willow but isn't that tall, but in the light at the time I visited there I thought it looked beautiful

and a closer in shot of it

Now we all know Denise loves flowers and even started the #alwaysaflowertag so ifelt I would be remiss if I didnt include at least one flower in this post
Google tells me this is a Echinops Ritro or globe thistle, being called a thistle to me seems a dull name for this beautiful flower

and to finish off a few blossoms

Quite the collection you have today! What a lovely @MarketFriday post! You know what I love! Actually, even though I love, love, love flowers, I still love cultures of all kinds. But you are absolutely right! #alwaysaflower allows me to collect flowers from around the platform. :)

I will admit right up front I don't know what that tree is, I should know it, but, it puzzles me, so I will plead the fifth, but, it is truly beautiful!

I love that the botanical parks/gardens, or many of them, sell flowers in the spring, a way of showing off the beauty. Some people wait all year to buy their flowers at these places as a way of supporting them, plus you get some pretty nice plants!

Thanks for always showing off the beauty, JJ! It truly makes it a pleasure to come over and ready your posts. The globe thistle is quite loved in Asia but for some reason, we don't have the same love for this beautiful flower... on the other hand, the white fringe tree is such a soft indulgent flower, beautiful and unique looking to me. Thank you for supporting the challenge and the shout-out! You are awesome!

#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers' markets, and eventually branched out and evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, and even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact that these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world.

Thank you for being a part of #MarketFriday

WOW I am stunned I found a plant you didn't recognize I never thought that day would come lOL

LOL... :) I'll try harder next time.

👍🙂👍

LOL someone thought it was a willow but trained into a bonsai

Lovely Market Friday post, @tattoodjay. That willow tree is just precious! I think they must have done a bonsai treatment to it to dwarf it and keep it contained as a small shrub, don't you think? It's just gorgeous!

thats what I thought as well a sort of bonsai willow tree whatever it is it looked so cool in the light at the time
