Market Friday
A post for Market Friday hosted by @dswigle, if you haven't followed her yet you should she is one of the kindest and most supportive people here on Hive, a comment from her is like a ray of sunshine on your page.
This is the one tag and challenge that I always make a point of joining, and also look through the posts of others that join the challenge and seeing markets from all around the world.
For this weeks post, I will share and talk about a new gadget/toy I just got
It arrived in the mail the other day
But what is it you may ask, well I will get to that I bought it off Amazon which is a market so I think this can count for a Market Friday post.
It is a Fairly new device called a WOWCUBE and I have bene following its development online for over a couple of years now, it had bene only available for preorder and shipping just recently started, but estimated shipping times were 4 to 6 Weeks and only for the Black edition which on the website costs $699, I was thinking of getting either the basic or cut the rope editions which were $399 or $549 Respectively.
But then I saw they had opened their store on Amazon and the black edition was $599, not cheap I know but I was frustrated with not getting out taking photos and decided what the heck lets get a toy to play with rather than saving a little more for a new lens and hit the order button.
I thought with the discount on Amazon the games installed and the card to buy new games it was an OK deal
I will explain what it is shortly, but first let me explain the difference between the editions,
the starter kit, includes the cube, 3 preinstalled games and a $30 card to buy games
The Cut the rope Edition, comes with 5 Games preinstalled, a travel case, an extra charging base and a $50 card for more games
and the black edition which I got comes with the cube a deluxe travel case, extra charging base, screen protectors, silicone and metal Protective Pads to protect the device if one drops it, 21 Preinstalled games and a $100 card for buying games
and here is the cube itself but your probably asking what is it, the company describes it as
The first-in-class innovative console and the gaming platform with immersive-reality user experience.
Its a One-of-a-kind device in the shape of a cube made of 8 connected cubicle modules that allow you to interact with the digital world like it is a real object, by tapping it, twisting it and turning it.
I think one could describe it as a Rubiks cube on steroids, it has 8 modules with three screens on each module which all connect to make the cube and I must say it is pretty cool and fun.
I was never that good at solving Rubik cubes, but this may make me practice and get better at it
you turn the tube to get the game you want to play highlighted and then double tap on it to open the game
This is the charging dock,, at first I thought it looks kind of flimsy but it seems to be solid enough
And here are a few of the games I have tried so far
First off not so much a game but just something to watch and relax a small aquarium with fish swimming around
You may have heard of the game cut the rope on mobile phones, well they have a version of it on the cube, its cool and tricky at the same time, my Granddaughter played with it a bit yesterday and loved this game
And this game is called 2048, you twist the side of the cube to try and match similar numbers, with the goal of trying to get up to 2048, as I said I am not that good with Rubik cube style games and only played with it for a couple of days and have only got up to 512 so far
This next game you need to twist and turn the cubes to match up the butterfly wings
As I said I have 21 games on it and haven't tried them all yet, but so far I am havign fun with it,
Do I recommend it, well base don the price it is expensive and probably not for everyone, but for me the Name WOWCUBE is apt as it is pretty WOW and fun to play with
it is still pretty new and as people get their hands on them there are some small issues coming up, but so far the couple of glitches I have had were easily fixed, and they do have a discord channel and respond quickly to help people solve any issues they may have, and most of the issues are fixed quickly with a reset
And that’s all folks
unless stated otherwise all photos used in my posts are taken and owned by myself, if you wish to use any of my images please contact me.
