Neds Point Light
Good Morning, dang we are already in the second week of the year, seems to have gone so fast already
Now I titled this post Neds Point light and for 4 out of 5 of my photos thats the case but I slipped in somehting different at the end, so I probably should have titles this Mattapoisett, but since the majority is of the Lighthouse let me stick with that

it is a 39-foot stone lighthouse built in 1838.
now somethign I didnt know I always thought this park witht he lighthouse was called Neds Point but I just found out this morning as I prepared this it is officially known as “Veterans of Mattapoisett Memorial Park,” it is a hub of recreational activity on the shores of Mattapoisett Harbor. Take in a panoramic view of the harbor, Buzzards Bay, Cape Cod, and the Elizabeth Islands
the lighthouse itself is not that tall at only 39 feet
but I am not sure how they measure that as i also read the Height of focal planeis 41 feet now I dont see how that can be higher than the lighthouse
The lighhouse was automated in 1923 and Deactivaten between 1952-1961

Its a spot I do love visiting, the park is fairly small, so not great for long walks, although that said when I visit there to get my steps in and get shots at different angles I usually do a few laps around the park

NOw most of these shots were early morning, often when I visit there a few others visit, but mostly just park in their car and watch the sunrise, not many are out walking like me, with the exception of a couple of couples I often see walking their dogs
